Best Friends

It was a freezingly cold Friday and I had just finished school. I decided to take a walk instead of going straight home, I didn't think my parents would mind anyway.

I took a nice stroll until I saw a little café nearby, I was quite numb from the icy wind so I went in, thinking I would get a quick drink or something.(not me realising this is kinda my oc story😭) 

As I entered the café my numbness finally subsided, replaced with warm air with a homey feel to it. I looked around and saw all of the pictures and display items put neatly to fit. 

I went to the front counter and waited for someone to come. A red haired lady emerged from the darkness with a broad smile.

"Hello young man! What would you like?" She said with a jolly voice.

I chose hot chocolate and a little strawberry flavoured, bear shaped jiggly cake.

I chose to eat inside since it was freezing outside. After I finished the lady came up to me.

"So, how was it?"

" It was amazing! I love the taste and it looked so cute. Honestly 10000\10 best cake I've ever had!"

"I'm glad you like it! It's my son's first time baking something like this. We just moved to Utah a few months ago and it's going great!"

" Well you deserve it! I'll make sure to tell my family about your café! Anyways what's your son's name, I might know him!"

"Oh! It's Noah! Noah Carter."

" I do know him! He's my friend."

" Then let me get him for you!"

"Honestly it's fi-" 

Before I could even finish my sentence she was gone. She came back with Noah and Cindy.

"Hi Michael! Didn't expect to see you here!"

" I didn't expect to see you here either! But your cake was amazing!"

"Thank you!" He chuckled.

" He's really good at baking and cooking!"

I looked down to see Cindy.

"Hi Cindy!"

"Hi Michael, how's c.c?"

" Cindy you just saw him toda-"

" DID I ASK YOU BIG TOMATO!" 

"CINDY GET YOUR BUT HERE!" 

They both laughed as Noah chased her out of the room.

" Sorry about her, she's always like that!"

"It's fine honestly! Also question where were you for like... 3 YEARS!"

"Oh yeah! I forgot to tell you! I went to Spain for a bit to see my cousins and everything!"

My eyes widened realising he wasn't British.

" And yes I do have a slight British accent but I am Spanish you know!"

We both laughed it off and chat more until I lost track of time and realised it was 10:00 pm.

"OH MY GOSH! I'm sorry I completely forgot about the time!"

"No worries! It's pretty dark so I'll just take you home."

After we got to my house we said our goodbyes and left.

I opened the door to see my mum and father with stern looks on their faces.

"You have alot of explaining to do young man..."
