Elara sat outside Ben's office while he and Saul talked.
Farah had been missing for a few hours and a search party was sent out to look for her. One of the teachers had come back holding a piece of Farah's coat which had some blood on it. All the teachers, Saul, and Ben were devastated as they knew it meant she was not coming back. Now they were discussing how to break the news to Farah's eight year old daughter.
"Saul, you should tell her," Ben said, looking at the specialist. "You are the one that will be able to comfort her" he said. Saul knew he was right but it still didn't make it any easier for him. "Alright" Saul said. He stepped out of Ben's office and saw the little girl sitting in one of the chairs clutching a stuffed black bunny. "Elara" Saul said softly as he sat down next to the child. "Did they find my mummy?" Little Elara asked as she looked up at him. "No sweetheart and I'm afraid she won't be coming back" Saul said gently.
"What do you mean mummy's not coming back?"
Elara asked. "One of the teachers found a piece of her coat and it had some blood on it" Saul said. "I'm so sorry sweetheart," He said. Elara felt her world shatter upon hearing those words. A heart wrenching cry came from the little girl as she broke down into tears. Saul hugs little Elara close and lets her cry, and Elara cried into Saul's coat as she could not believe her mother was gone. The other teachers watched as Saul tried to comfort the grieving child. They knew one of them would have to take the little girl in as she had no other family. "Poor little creature" One of the teachers said as she looked at the child with pity. Elara cried until she eventually passed out from exhaustion. Saul picked the young girl up and carried her back to his private apartments so that way she could rest. He placed Elara on one of the lavender couches in his office before covering her with a soft blanket. Saul would take little Elara in and raise her like his own until she was old enough to assume the responsibilities as the Headmistress of Alfea. Elara laid there asleep with tear stains on her face. Saul gently wiped the remaining ones away. He knew he would have to inform the students about what happened but had to figure out how to. Hours went by as Saul sat at his desk working and occasionally glanced over at the sleeping child. Then the doors to his office burst open as one of the other teachers came in looking out of breath.
"She's alive" The teacher tells her. Saul was shocked at what he heard. Then Farah came in. The Headmistress didn't look injured at all. "oh my god" Saul said as he made his way over to his colleague. "What happened?" He asked."Those reapers attacked me while I was gathering ingredients for some potions," Farah explained while holding her cane. "We all thought you were dead, Farah," Saul said. "Well I'm not although they did manage to cut my arm" She said as she rolled up her sleeve revealing the bandage around her arm. "Well we are all glad that you are alright" Ben said. Farah glanced over and saw her daughter laying on the couch asleep. Farah looks back at Saul who had a guilty look on his face. Farah realized that they must've told her daughter she was dead and would not be coming back. Farah walked over to her daughter before placing a hand on her cheek. Elara's eyes slowly opened before widening upon seeing her mom's face. "Mummy!" Elara said as she threw her arms around her mom as she began to cry again. "It's alright sweetheart I'm here" Farah said as she hugged her daughter. "They said you weren't coming back" Elara said as she sobbed. Saul left the room so they could have some privacy. "I'm here now darling and I won't ever leave you again" Farah said trying to reassure her daughter. "I thought I was gonna be alone mummy" Elara said. Farah felt awful for causing her daughter to worry about her. "You will never be alone darling, I will always be here for you I promise" Farah said gently. "I love you mama" Elara said between sobs. "I love you too sweetheart and I will always be here for you" Farah said as she kissed her daughter's cheek. After a couple minutes Elara eventually calmed down and Farah carried her daughter back to her suite
Once they got to their apartments Farah laid down on her bed still holding her daughter. She placed gentle kisses all over her daughter's head and hummed softly to her. Soon enough Elara fell back to sleep and Farah smiled seeing her daughter had calmed down. She couldn't imagine ever being separated from her daughter and knew how devastated she must have been when the others told her that she wouldn't be coming back. She promised to never leave her daughter and always be there for her. Farah soon fell asleep with her daughter wrapped up in her arms safe and sound.
