Jasmine was starting to get dizzy from all the turns they had to make. She could have sworn Matt had just gotten to the little room before he ran back to the cell where she was in the time it took them to get there, or it could be the throbbing head making the walking seem worse.

When she finally sat down, it felt like the weight of the world had been lifted from her shoulders. She no longer has to walk, she could just relax. Her moment of pure happiness was shattered by the loud smack of the man's hand on the table.

Then there's that guy, she thought.

"Gosh darn it if your friend, or is he your brother? You two look nothing alike, anyways, he disarmed every alarm and knew every code to the doors, even ones I don't know."

Jasmine remained silent, not sure if she should answer.

"Well?" he asked.

She still said nothing.

Suddenly, she felt a little numb spot in the small of her back. She leaned forward to re-adjust her position, but couldn't. The fear from being unable to move must have shown, becuse the man laughed.

"You now only have control over your heart, lungs and eyelids, the rest of your muscle movements are in suspension, as your brain is asleep. You can now only focus on me and answer questions, truthfully, I might add. The only thing, probably within the next thirty seconds you will have are memories and complete focus on me."

Jasmine started to panic inside. She tried to think of a way out of this, but already, she was losing her ability to rationalize. A few seconds later, she was watching the base burn, and Matt running across the field.

An echo in her mind asked who Matt was.

"A friend." She answered.

"I see," the voice said. "How did you meet?"

"Well, he took me with him when he ran away from the Dark House." She saw the dark night in her mind, Matt, still only a child, holding out his hand for hers.

"Now, did you two destroy that base?"

Jasmine's mind was then filled with the day's prior events. "Yes."

"Did he do the shooting?" The echo asked.

"No, I did."

The general sat back in his chair. The drug was definitely serving its purpose. So the girl had done the shooting, not the boy.

"Well then, what did the boy do while you were there shooting at the fort?"

She answered, "Matt got most of the officers outside the fort chasing him, there are only a few, it was quite small, while I burned it down from afar."

Jasmine, in her stupor, was beginning to think something was wrong, but she was only dreaming, right?

Continuing to answer all questions, Jasmine revealed that she was behind several other such incidents.

On the outside world, the general was reveling.  He finally had a name to put behind the destruction of the past three years.  The drug, giminsam, was starting to wear off, so he gave her a dose of memory duller, just to be sure she hadn't known what she had told him.  Giminsam did that, but in this case, he wanted no loose ends.

Jasmine slumped over in her chair.

Side effects... He dialed the guards outside his door.  The door slid open, admitting the two guards.  They picked Jasmine up and carried her back to her cell.
