I pull out my phone on my way out from Michelle's. Seriously, where did she get this mom? I had the best of fun with her. My plan was to only have some of her muffins, but I couldn't argue when she convinced me to watch skulls reality show, a show where various families compete in a couple of challenges. I had no idea I could have such an amount of fun with someone as Mrs Jerome.

I turn on my phone and it vibrates. Great, maybe it's Michelle. I turn on the phone check who it is, I find that it's Tyler. I find myself grinning.

Tyler: Hi

He's really easy going and well, we've just started dating about a week ago. That's normal I guess.

Kayla: Hi Ty

I type back and wait. He's typing again.

Tyler: Where are you? Can I call you?

Kayla: Yea, sure. Just walking home right now

Then as expected, my phone rings. I answer it.

'Hey,' Tyler on the other side says. 'I miss you Kay.' I blush. But good thing there's Michelle to see it, I wouldn't have heard the end of it for a while.

'Miss you more Ty.' And I mean it. Especially now that I've heard his voice and I get reminded much of him.

'Where you coming from?'

'I was at Michelle's, but not actually with Michelle.' I giggle.

He dramatically gasps, and I laugh more. 'So, you were on a date with her dog? Her dad? Oooh, her brother?' Like that am just laughing.

'No,' I say. 'More like her mom. She's a really fun woman.'

'Good for you. So where's Michelle then?'

'She went to her granny's.'

'So you were like, if I can't have my bestfriend, I'll have her mom instead?'

I laugh a little. 'Hahaha, very funny. What are you doing anyway?'

'Me? Am hiding away from my dad, you know?...Am kidding, but I've been watching soccer with him. Since he's on holiday he wants us to spend more time together before he goes back to work. But am really hiding from my dad.'

'Wow, that's not crazy at all.'

He laughs. 'Yea. I wanted to ask, what are you up to tomorrow? I need you to meet at the library you know? I wanna show you something and I just really wanna see you too.'

'Um, I don't think there's anything tomorrow or maybe practice but...' But what? Michelle has abandoned me?  I don't even know where the whole competition is going. Maybe Michelle will show up before then right? 'Yea, tommorow at the library will do. What time though?'

'Um, 09:30 am?'

'All right, see you then.'

'Yea. Bye. Love you.'

'Love you too bye.' And the line goes off. Am finally going to see Tyler. He's just really sweet. He's actually the only guy I like that I've managed to become friends with without Michelle's tutoring throughout. I smile at the thought.

Soon enough, I find myself around my neighborhood. I hadn't realized how fast the time passed.

After having dinner with my family, I sit on my bed covering myself in my blanket, fianlly having some quiteness. At the dinner table, it had been all about Dad scolding Conor. Something about him crushing the back of his car. To be honest, I don't really care about any of it and mom didn't seem concerned either.
