Once I got home that night I ran up to my room, without drawing any attention to myself. I plopped myself onto my bed and slid my journal out from under my pillow.

"It's hard to have an open mind here. I know I should try and I know life will take it's own course no matter what. With the events of today fresh in my mind, I can't help but have an assortment of songs playing through my mind. It's weird that almost every song is about love; falling in love, listing love, making love, etc... Sure, I've 'made love' before, but I didn't get the sparks that everyone talks about. Maybe I did something wrong? Yeah, not going to talk about this. I need to get to sleep,

'Running with lions never felt like such a mistake...' "

As soon as I slid my journal back under my pillow I fell right to sleep.

----

The bright yellow moonlight shown down on me as I ran through the darkened forest. An ear-shattering scream pierced through the darkness. I didn't look back, looking back would only slow me down. Between the tree's I see a shadowed face staring back at me. Mimicking my every move. A shot fires, the sound causing me to trip over my feet; before my body could hit the ground I fall into a hard wall. Wait a wall?

"Hello love..." Slowly, I lifted my head. Taking in every piece of this 'wall'.

"...Zayn..." I breathed.

Out of the darkness a loud beeping noise emerges. Beeping? A bomb, maybe? It continues...

---

My eyes cracked, allowing a sliver of light in. Ugh, it was all a dream. What the hell is that beeping and why is it still going on?! Then it hit me. Crap!! My alarm was still screeching at me and I looked at the time: 7:30 a.m. No. No, no, no, no, no!!! I jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom. I have to leave for work in a half hour!

As a music teacher at a nearby preschool my attire doesn't have to be anything fabulous. I threw on light-blue jeans and a coral button up, and instead of my beat-up converse I opted for some brown ballet flats. And I left my hair down, boring I know, but it was easiest. So, I grabbed my bag, my guitar and a bagel and ran out the door. Thankfully, I eat my bagels completely plain so I didn't have any problem just grabbing one from the kitchen.

I arrived exactly at 8 and raced straight to the back room, yelling a "hello" to Jamie, the front desk worker. I passed by my classroom and heard the sound of my students giggling and yelling, but I don't have time to stop and look.. I ran into the back room and swiped my time card then dashed back to my classroom. I opened the door and was honestly, completely surprised.

Sitting in the middle of the multi-coloured circular rug was a certain boy. The last person I would've expected to see, and he definitely wasn't a student of mine. It's obvious he didn't see me walk in, because he was still laughing and smiling with the all the kids. I swear, there was a spark in his beautiful brown eyes that wasn't there the night before.

"Miss Jessy! Miss Jessy!" Raina, a four year old student of mine, ran up to me with open arms. As she wrapped her small arms around me she said, "I really like your friend! He's so much fun!"

"Well," I replied cheerfully, trying to mask the shock in my voice, "Then let's go play with him! Maybe he'd like to sing with us today!"

We walked back to the rug, hand in hand, and as we approached the center our guest noticed our presence and stood up as well.

"Hello Zayn. I see you've made quite the impression on my students here," I gestured to the children around us, "Would you like to stay and sing with us a bit?"

A smile spread across his face, "There's nothing else I'd rather do."

"Don't get cheeky with me Malik, you have some explaining to do before you even think about leaving." I winked at him before turning to my students, "Okay everyone! I see you've met my friend, Zayn. Would it be okay if he joined us today?"
