When Luan woke up, she felt the pavement underneath her. At first, she thought that Lincoln had made her sleep on the street because he was fed up with her. But then she remembered that she was on the run from her brother. She picked herself up and decided to check on Mr. Coconuts. Ever since her brother became corrupted by perfection, the dummy had been her only friend. As she pulled out Mr. Coconuts from her backpack the dummy moaned. "Is that you Uncle Woody? Oh, hey, Toots!" Luan smiled. "Toots" was a nickname Mr. Coconuts had given her and hearing that nickname always made her smile. Luan gave her friend a pat on the head and looked around her. As she looked around her surroundings, Mr. Coconuts said what Luan was thinking "I don't think we're in Royal Woods anymore Toots!" Luan soon realised that the dummy was right. This wasn't Royal Woods Park! Somehow she was in the middle of a big and busy city. How did she get here? Then she remembered the three cards that she found last night and the bright flash. She gasped. "Odd-Eyes!" She put the hand that wasn't holding Mr. Coconuts into her shirt left pocket. Luckily she felt it in there. Luan sighed in relief. "That was a close one, Mr. Coconuts." Just then she noticed that the dummy wasn't listening to her. "Mr. Coconuts?" Luan asked. The dummy pointed in the direction in which he was looking. Luan looked in the direction and when she saw what Mr. Coconuts was looking at, she gasped. Turns out she was right outside a brightly lit funfair! From where she was standing she could see a few tents and stands. Just then she saw the sign near where she found herself. The sign read YOU SHOW DUEL SCHOOL'S FESTIVAL OF FUN! SPONSORED BY LEO CORP. "Leo Corp? Never heard of them." Luan said puzzled. "You wanna check it out?" Mr. Coconuts said. "Yep." Luan grinned. She used to love funfairs. Her parents took her to one when she was 12 years old and they had a great time. Luan thought maybe the funfair would take her mind off her problems. But she still had to be careful in case her brother onto her. She took one look behind her to make sure her brother wasn't following her before stepping into the fairgrounds.
(A/N you can play the music up top now.)
As Luan walked around the fairgrounds, she couldn't help smiling as she looked around the stalls and tents. She felt like she was 12 years old again and the accident that changed her life had never happened. She decided to check out some of the attractions. Just then her tummy rumbled. She completely forgot that she hadn't had anything to eat apart from an apple before she left home. Also, she didn't have any money since her brother locked her wallet in the attic. She was still thinking about her current problem when she heard a boy's voice call out from one of the sideshows. "Ladies and gentlemen! Step right up and win a ruby! $50 for the brave man who can beat the mighty Gong Strong!" Luan looked in the direction of the voice and saw a young boy dressed in a blue jacket holding a tip jar and a lollipop. "Isn't that kid a little too young to be a barker?" Luan asked Mr. Coconuts. The dummy shrugged. "Yeah, point taken." she agreed.
On the stage behind the boy stood a large man glaring at the passersby, as if almost waiting for something to happen. The sight of the man made Luan gulp in fear. Her sister Lynn might've been able to take that man on but she was on her own without any of her sisters.
"I'm getting out of here!" Luan gulped. Even though she was desperate for money, she wasn't that desperate. Besides, that guy looked like he could easily break her apart. And if Lincoln saw her up on that stage, well she didn't want to think about it. And she did not want to be caught by her brother. Luan quickly slipped off before could see her. Mr. Coconuts looked at her. "Still confused Toots?" The dummy asked. "Not really. I'm just looking for something to eat!" Luan said. "Didn't you have breakfast?" Mr. Coconuts asked her. "Not really." Luan admitted. Her tummy rumbled again, hungry. Luan kept on walking looking at the different attractions and keeping her eyes open for Lincoln. Just then a loud voice called out from a large stage in the middle of the fairgrounds. "Ladies and gentlemen! May we have your attention, please? Kindly direct your eyes to the stage and give a warm welcome to our special guest. The Prince of the pendulum, The sultan of smiles, The one and only... YUYA SAKAKI!" A spotlight lit up on the stage, shining on a young boy wearing an entertainer's outfit who began singing and dancing.
(A/N ok, I know that this isn't Yuya's usual style, but in this story, Yuya and Declan wear outfits similar to their fathers. Not a bad idea, huh?)
As he sang, Luan stared in amazement at the boy. He seemed to be quite a performer. Just like her before Lincoln caged her in her room. Man Luan thought impressed, This guy's good. At the end of the song, the boy smiled and bowed to the crowd. "Thank you! Thank you!" He said cheerfully. "Welcome to the Yuya SPECTACULAR! And boy have I got a show for you. But first, let's meet our stars for this show! Besides me that is." The crowd laughed at this and Luan couldn't help smiling. Have you ever seen something so amazing it leaves you speechless? Well, that's how Luan felt when she saw Yuya Sakaki for the first time. The boy pulled out four cards from his pocket that flashed as he held them up. Luan covered her eyes again, afraid to look at the stage. But at the same time, the crowd started pushing her away so they could get a better look at the show. Luan soon found herself face down in the dirt. She tried to get back up but people kept pushing her back down. Luan managed to pull herself out of the crowd and found a place to hide. She was a big mess than she was before. Luan started to cry, upset that she was lost and didn't know what to do. Just then she heard a kind voice speaking to her.
"Hey, are you ok?"
Luan looked up at the sound of the voice and saw the boy who was up on the stage staring at her.
Oh boy, Luan thought. What am I gonna do?
