Between Me and Shinigami

Chapter 7 - First Day of School

Luna PoV

It's been three weeks since the day William T. Spears came and demanded me dead. It's also been three weeks since we decided for me to become a Shinigami and to attend Reaper Academy.

Grell-nee, Ron-nii, and Undertaker have been training me and giving me lessons in Reapers history, and fighting and running. They said that they summed a three-years lessons into three week. They literally worked me to death. After training I was so tired I could sleep on my feet.

But three weeks has passed and tomorrow is my first day of school. I'm going to take portals to go between human realm and shinigami realm, so I won't have to stay in the dorm.

I stopped thinking as I remembered something vital. I haven't got my uniform!

I ran out of my room and found Undertaker in the 'guests' room. He was putting the last flower inside our latest guest's coffin. As he straightened up, I knocked on the door to announce my presence even hough I know that he probably already felt me coming down.

He turned around and gave me his signature creepy smile, "Anything you need dear?"

"I have no idea where my uniform is." I said dryly. He giggled, "Your nee-san must have forgotten to tell you. It's in the highest rack in your closet. I think." He said thoughtfully.

I nodded and dashed upstair back to my room to get my uniform.

I took it off the rack and wear it quickly. My new uniform consisted of a white blouse with high neck and long sleeve and ruffles on the chest and wrists area, black mid-thigh skirt, a black ribbon tie, and black vest with silver lining. Because the skirt is too short in my opinion, I put a black ankle length legging underneath the skirt and dark brown ankle boots. As for accessories, I put the emerald ring Undertaker gave me on my pointy finger, ruby studs earings Grell nee-san bought me on my ear and onix-silver coffin shaped brooch Ron nii-chan made for me on my ribbon tie.

"Are you ready?" Undertaker asked as I finished clipping my brooch on. "Yes!" I nodded vigorously. He chuckled amused at my antics. "Come on then, Grell and Ronald are on the other side already, waiting for you." He tucked my hand inside of his elbow and guided me onto the portal between the Mortal Realm and Shinigami Realm.

As we passed through the portal, I gasped impressed. We arrived in a big circle shaped field of grass for a few hectares and a church like building on the centre. There are many portal gate opened around us and Reapers and soon to be young reapers like me trickling out of the portals.

I felt a tug on my hand and turned to see Undertaker's holding my hand and been watching me gaping at the scenery around us with soft smile. I blushed.

He chuckled, "Well, this is where you will train to be a shinigami. Ronald and Grell will be there for you if you need anything." I nodded.

He missed my forehead gently and gestured me to go ahead. I walked to the building and when I looked back, Undertaker's already gone.

I sighed and resumed my walk. I was instructed to find the administration office. When I walked inside, I saw a sweet looking lady with the shinigamis trademark eyes.

"Hello. My name's Luna Wingstone. I'm new here." I said to the lady, Leighla. She smiled almost giddy, "Ah yes. New recruits! Here's your name tag dear. Have a good day!"

I smiled amused at her bubbly personality, "Thank you and have a nice day."

As I walked to the designated classroom, everyone keeps glancing at me. Well, I assume you don't get a human as a new recruits in this place often. I shrugged it off as I keep walking towards the classroom.
