New Note (October 2024): Are you ready for The Love I Found 2.0? I've added some chapters to age up the characters. Those changes take place at the end of Chapter 16 and some of the brand new chapters that follow. Because of these changes, I'll be revising some of the previously completed chapters later in the book as well. But overall, the plot will remain the same with some additional new chapters added to further elaborate specific areas that I thought could use more details. This labour of love has been both extremely frustrating and fun, and I hope it was worth it! Chapters will be published on a weekly basis. I don't have a set schedule planned yet but I hope to find my rhythm and will notify you on my message board once I have a schedule figured out. As always, thank you so much for the support and for giving my first book a chance. ❤️

Thank you so much for taking the time to check out The Love I Found. I hope you stick around for the long haul, because I have so much planned for this story. A story about the lives of two foster teens, Emilia and Cal, as they grow into adults.
Editing to add (April 2024): This story is being revised to adhere to the new code of conduct put in place by Wattpad. Chapters will be re-published once I have the time to change the storyline in a way that won't leave any plot holes.
The book is rated Mature for a reason. If you are not okay with some smut, this probably isn't the book for you. Mind you, this smut generally has a mixture of sweetness and humour intertwined with it. It's not written to arouse you—though it might 😏—it's written to further show the "building" of a relationship.
This book also contains a lot of foul and offensive language, substance abuse, violence, toxic relationships, and some mentions of sexual abuse. It is not a light read. While these things are portrayed in a negative light, they are still a huge part of the story. If you find any of those subjects triggering, this is not the book/series for you.
Rated 18+ While the book starts when the characters are 17, no sexual contact happens between characters until after they've both turned 18, and they will continue to age throughout this book/series.

This is the first draft of my first book. I'm planning to follow it with a sequel and maybe more. There will be a thorough edit one day, but until then, I'm marking this story as complete. Feel free to point out typos and awkward sentences in the comments. (EDIT TO ADD: I have edited multiple times now. Who knows what "draft" this is. I'm still open to corrections/suggestions though.)
