ATHENA CRINGED AS she shoved the new guy—Billy's—shoulder in an effort to push past him amongst the sea of drunk teenagers clustered in Tina's house.

Ignoring the ice-cold glare that Billy shot towards her in response, Athena just continued to make her way towards an empty space, however finding an area of the house that was not occupied by her slurring peers was proven impossible—her fault for daring to leave her previous position to pour herself a drink and get some air.

The huge speakers were practically blaring in her ears, and the disgusting, alcohol-induced stickiness that trapped the soles of her shoes to the ground was bordering on infuriating, but Athena was pretty much used to it by this point. In the time that she had gone outside to get some air and finish her drink, she had noticed a few new faces slip past and join the party, one of them being Jonathan—she had a particularly strong hunch he would turn up.

Athena's eyes lit up as she approached him, but not before grabbing herself and Jonathan some punch on the way.

"Byers, you made it." Athena grinned as she playfully nudged his arm with her elbow, taking a sip of her drink once she finished speaking and handing him the drink she poured for him.

"Thanks. And, yeah, I reconsidered..." Jonathan just huffed a small, awkward chuckle at her words as his eyes found Nancy sloppily dancing with Steve amidst the sea of drunken teenagers, the boy gladly taking the cup from her hand.

Athena followed his gaze, her grin growing at Jonathan's obvious admiration for Nancy. "For Nance, no doubt."

Jonathan's head immediately snapped over to look at Athena at the words, and his eyes widened. "What? No."

"Okay, whatever." Athena just knowingly shrugged, smirking as she took a sip of her drink.

"Let me guess, 'Sixteen Candles'?" Jonathan's voice caught Athena's attention, the girl's eyes lighting up once more as she was relieved that someone had gotten her costume.

"Thank you!" Athena exclaimed between happy laughs, Jonathan releasing chuckles as he nodded slowly. "It's like nobody knows the classics anymore! I must say, though, your costume of...a guy...is pretty accurate."

Jonathan just huffed out a chuckle as he glanced down at his attire, which was essentially his usual, daily wear. "A girl dressed up as someone from Kiss actually said something similar-"

Suddenly interrupting their conversation mid-sentence, Ruth bounced towards them, speaking up loudly and slightly slurring her words, Joshua striding behind her. "Heyyy, there you are!"
