Angsty time guys. Y'all knew I couldn't stay wholesome forever.

"Where the fuck do you think you're going, Lana?" My dad yells from down the hall. "You can't leave your mother and I to do all the chores now, can you?"

"JJ, you need to go." I say in warning.

I know what this voice means, bad things are going to happen if he stays here.

"JJ, go, now!" I say as I try to slam the door but he sticks his foot in the doorway.

"Lana, what's going on?" He asks, not understanding what will happen next if he doesn't disappear right this second.

"Who's at the door, Lana, sweetie? Is it some boy?" My father says. I can already feel the abuse I'll get for having a boy over.

"JJ I'm not asking you again. GO!" I say, holding back tears.

I kick his foot to get it through the door, slamming it shut before trying to pacify my dad.

"Dad, dad calm down please. It wasn't a boy, it was just Aria coming to pick me up." I say in my most placating voice.

"And where are you planning to go?" He asks.

"Just down town Dad I swear, I'll only be gone for a few hours. I say trying to calm him.

I hear JJ's car door open and shut, I feel my phone vibrate in my pocket. I try to go back towards the door but my dad keeps coming at me.

"Why are you leaving, Lana?" He says, walking towards me slowly.

"Go to your room, I don't want to see your face anymore."

"Okay, Dad." I say as I run up the stairs, thank god he was letting me off this easy.

I texted JJ.

Once I reached my room I closed the door and locked it. I walked over to my window and opened it. I threw one leg over the windowsill and placed my foot on the roof. I shoved my torso through before pulling my other leg out onto the roof. I walked to the edge of the roof and sat down so my body was closer to the ground. I jump down just to be caught by a pair of muscular arms. JJ's body catches my fall, his hand holding the back of my head and under my knees.

He looks into my eyes as he catches me, I can smell his perfect scent quickly sink into me, giving me immediate comfort. I look at his eyes, finally comfortable to make eye contact before he says.

"Are you okay, princess?"

I'm caught off guard by him and everything that just happened. I feel like a princess who finally met her prince. Him holding me felt like the puzzle was complete in my life.

I quickly come back into reality, "yeah I'm okay" I smile, genuinely.

JJ puts me on the ground and we rush to his car and quickly bucking in, finally clicking in his brain that we had to go now.

JJ gets the car going and asks, "What happened back there, Lana?"

I sat quiet for a moment not knowing how to respond. I look at him, driving so calmly as if everything back there didn't even affect him. He seemed genuinely caring towards me.

"I don't really wanna talk about it yet." I say, focusing on the road ahead.

We stay quiet for a bit while we both process what happened.

"Where are we going?" I ask, realizing I don't even know.

"Ah, your favourite place, princess. The bookstore."
