the new hedgehog in town

Scavenging always came natural for me. It was easy to do and I always knew what to grab. Normally, mecha sonic comes with me and we talk. Talk about some missions we went on before being sent to the scrapyard, we'd tell eachother riddles, talk about what we'd have done diffrent when facing sonic in our own missions, and every here and there, brag. Today is a bit different though.

This morning I went to the scrap room to start a new project but then realized we were low on circuits and copper wires. So we all split up. It was also a good opportunity to see if silver sonic was any good at Scavenging.

But I didn't like being alone deep down in my programming.

Mecha sonic is like my best friend and older brother. He's the one who gave me my hat, the one who found me and fixed my arms since they were both destroyed. I remember silver sonic mentioning that when he woke up all he had was a arm and emergency systems. That impressed me a little but I would never have said that out loud.

Whenever I was lonely while Scavenging or even bored, id use a music player I found and installed into my internal systems. I found listening and even making some music very entertaining. I play a song that I made while grabbing a whole barrel of oil and start extracting the upsettingly little left oil in the barrel into my canteen.

This truly was my most favorite music I made. But besides that, I go to a nearby destroyed eggpawn for some copper wires.

Silver_sonic_pov:

I walk around grabbing some circuits I find and every here and there, sending a scan for new robo hedgehogs.

I stop in my tracks as I see a wall of old scrap in my way. I use my shield to bash my way through. As I bash though I notice a piece of metal looked a little odd... it looked like a robotic ear. I clear the scrap around it and the head of silver sonic 2 revealed itself. It was kinda weird seeing my older brother totally covered in scrap like that.

I clear the surrounding scrap and pull his body out. A large chunk of his head was missing and large holes where all around the body of silver sonic 2. A foot was damaged, and his energy cells were completely dried. Both of his arms were mangled, beyond repair.

I open a side panel and grab a cable and connect it to a panel on him.

Oh god, I'm really getting nervous. I see my power levels get from 95.645% to 62.971%. It brought a lot of stress to my systems but I know its for my brother.

My left camera eye activates as I see a rusty silver robot in front of me. This is it. This is how I die again? To be reactivated just to be torn apart? I put some power into my damaged voice box, being the only robo hedgehog to speak actual words.

Silver sonic 2: "ple-e-ease don't ki-i-i-ll me."

The silver robot shaked his head and I relax.

???: "my name is silver sonic, silver sonic 3 to be exact. I'm here to save you. There are others that were thrown away like you and me. Your safe. No more eggman, no more missions, just you and your brothers."

Silver sonic 2: "no mo-o-re soni-c-c?"

Silver_sonic_pov:

>WARNING: MEMORY RECOVERED. PLAYING.

It stood in front of his maters desk as it learned about its enemy. Sonic the hedgehog. Blue. Strong. Small compared to my large structure.

Eggman: "and remember, no matter what, priority one is the hedgehog."

>PRIMARY OBJECTIVE SET: PRIORITY ONE: HEDGEHOG.

>END MEMORY.

My old objective was to kill one person. That was my purpose. Why did mecha never tell me? I look down at silver sonic 2, waiting a response.

Silver sonic 3: "yes, no more sonic. If he comes ill personally fill out priority one: hedgehog. Not for eggman, but for you and the other robots that call this scrapyard home."

I pick up silver sonic 2 and tie him to the back of my head. I ping mecha knuckles and mecha sonic that we have a new hedgehog in town.

Mecha_sonic_pov:

I grabbed some of the things we needed for the scrap room and mecha knuckles mysterious project.

I get a ping on my system. Only 7 words appeared.

>PLAYING PING: WE GOT A NEW HEDGEHOG IN TOWN.

For a second my defense systems activate as I imagine sonic holding silver sonics head, wagging his finger in a taunting manner. The house burning behind him with a destroyed mecha knuckles at the door.

But then a second ping with a picture of a happy silver sonic with another silver robot on his head, smiling. I guess were gonna have to use there full names now.

I calm myself and start to return home. Halfway there I encountered knuckles! How did he get here! No! I wont let him kill me!

He charges me and... hugs me? My systems go back to normal and it's mecha knuckles hugging me and calming me down. The rest of the walk home was in silance.
