They were together; alone. Here, in cell eighteen, just Luna and Soleil. As soon as Anstasia and Arlie left, Luna threw herself at Soleil and they sat there, in eachother's warm embrace, holding each other tight. Finally, Soleil explained what had happened with Arlie and Anastasia and why Soleil was here in the first place. Soleil told her that they had to escape the prison and reason with the two if it wasn't too late already.
"Soleil, why leave when this is all we want? Eachother. No rules or responsibilities, free food and shelter, all shared with each other. What more do you want?"
"They're going to fight over land. I know they will. One will take it to heart and kill the other. I can't let that happen."
"Soleil, please. I don't want you to get hurt."
"Luna, if you don't want me to get hurt then help me. They might put us back anyway."
"What if they kill us instead?"
"They're probably going to do that eventually, we might as well spare some other lives in the process."
"Ha! I didn't know you were so humorous. Might as well spare some other lives. Ha!"
"What are you laughing at?"
"You're serious... Oh you Zellaridians."
"What, you Miri? What about us?"
"Oh, nothing. Just, don't get hurt. I love you."
"I love you too. And if you do love me, you'll help me."
"Fine. But, how?"
They looked around the cell for anything that could be useful. They found a loose end of a chain that had been flattened, and Luna used it to unlock the door. They ran out of the jail cell and all around town. Every house and building was empty, not one person was to be found. Soleil ran fast, and to keep Luna by her side she held her hand. They frolicked around the town, holding hands, searching for any other person. It was as if they were the only two people still alive, and Soleil wouldn't have minded that. However, they entered Scheven's forge to search and found what they were looking for. The two shivs that hung above his anvil, his finest work, were gone. He had made three, and Soleil held the only one that hadn't been bought at his insanely high prices. On the anvil itself was a note written in Scheven's handwriting, signed by him and both Arlie and Anastasia and the bottom.
By loaning these weapons for a royal duel, she who comes out alive owes I, Scheven Golin, 5,000 pieces for taking them out of their grand condition. January 5th, signed;
Arlie Blahide
Anastasia Archier
Scheven Golin
"Duel! How bad could their argument get?" Luna asked, concerned. "Apparently it came to this." Soleil said solemnly. Luna put her arms around her and put her head on her shoulder in an effort to comfort her. Soleil began to sob and threw herself to the ground. Luna bent down and hugged her again, rubbing her arm in a way to consistently remind her that she was there. Soleil knew that Luna was the right one for her at this moment. They had been through so much together, so many ups and downs, and still found love.
Shaking it off, they ran to the bridge which was the only place in Zellarid that had not yet been checked. There, they saw every citizen of Zellarid, along with Dadokes, standing behind Anastasia. Across the bridge, every citizen of Mirirejar as well as Leod stood behind Arlie. Foja stood in between the two Queens, with worry on her face that was shared by every other person in the crowd. Luna and Soleil forced their way up, where they saw everyone that had come to be in this moment and stand behind the raging Queens. "We're too late, love." Luna said, putting her hand on Soleil's shoulder. Soleil moved her hand to place it on top of Luna's.
"You're right."
