Kie reaches out to grab the Fedex package that was hidden. On the package, it says 'For Bird' in black writing.
"That's not gold" Pope points out as she hands the package over to John B. "Holy shit, this is from my dad." John B tells them as Kie and Dallas got out with the help of Pope and JJ.
A vehicle is now approaching, and JJ, who was smoking a blunt, is the one who notices it first. "Code red. Code red. Square groupers. Square groupers." he warns as he is the first to make a run for it. John B, Pope, Kie, and Dallas follow him suit.
"Is it the guys that robbed JB's place?" Dallas asked. "Yep." JJ responds. The group frantically rushes to turn off any light that they have on them.
"You think that's them?" Kie asks JJ, who peers out from the headstone. "Homie's got a gun."
"Screw this." Kie says as she starts running, the rest of the Pogues following her suit. JJ, Kie, John B, and Dallas were all able to get over the fence that blocks the cemetery from the roads, but Pope got himself stuck on the gate.
"Guys. Guys, I'm stuck. I'm stuck." Pope tells the group.
"P, we got you. We got you." Dallas reassures him. "Wait, you're gonna rip me!" he warns. His warnings didn't get anywhere because once they were able to free Pope, his shorts got ripped.
"Nice. It's a little Tootsie Roll." JJ pokes fun. "JJ, come on." Dallas tells him, grabbing him by the wrist and making their way towards the Twinkie. They all get into the van and John B drives away.
Once getting back to the Chateau, JJ is making himself a sandwich.
"That bread had mold on it three days ago." Pope tells JJ.
"I'll just pull off the bad parts. Plus, mold is good for you. It's just a natural organism." JJ tries to counter.
Pope is about to warn JJ again, but Dallas stops him. "Don't. He'll learn." she tells him.
They all meet up with John B, and JJ proves Dallas's point when he takes a bite of that sandwich, because he immediately spits it out. Dallas smirks over at Pope, pointing her hand over at JJ. "I rest my case."
Inside the package, John B pulls out a map that has a coordinate in there. "Oh. X marks the spot." Pope points out, pointing over to the 'X' that is written on the map.
"Wait, there's something else in there." John B points out after observing the latitude and longitude of the coordinates. In addition to the map, there is a voice recorder in the package.
JJ, however, doesn't know what it is. "What is that?" he asks. "It's a tape recorder, dumbass." Kie replies. John B presses play on the device.
"Dear Bird." the booming voice of Big John Routledge begins to play over the tape recorder.
"Who's Bird?" JJ asks. "That's what my dad called me." John B responds.
"...I hate to say, "I told you so," but I told you so. And you doubted your old man." Big John continued. "I suspect at this moment you're filled with guilt and self-loathing over our last fight, but don't kill yourself just yet, kid. I didn't expect to find the Merchant either."
The teenagers were all looking over at each other at the revelation: Big John was well aware about the Merchant and quite possibly the gold.
"You were probably right to call me out. Wasn't exactly Father of the Decade. What can I say, kid? I could smell the barn. And hopefully, we're listenin' to this in our brand new sugar-shack down in Costa Rica, livin' off passive investments and pulling on permits. If not, and you find this for less than optimal reasons, well, that's what the map is for. There she is, the wreck of the Merchant. If somethin' happens to me, finish what I started. Go for the gold, kid. I love you, Bird, even if I didn't always act like it. I'll see you on the other side."
