P.O.V- Chase
The week went by slowly, waiting for Friday to come around, even through I saw Annabelle every day at school. When I'm with her the days didn't seem so long but as soon as I was no longer around her, time dragged and I found myself starring at the clock, thinking about her. The way her hair shimmered in the sun or how her eyes lit up when she sees me and the way she laughs at my stupid dorky jokes. I love the way she smiles at me when I'm talking about history, it always takes me a moment to remember that she's lived through it. Wait did I just think love. Do I love her? I look over at her, she was looking to the front of the classroom, grinding her teeth together. I wonder what's going on with her?
Everyone got up when the bell rang, filing out of the classroom. I make my way over to Annabelle, who was still in her seat, clenching a pencil. It snapped just as I reach her.
"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked.
She growled, getting up and heading out of the room. I run after her, trying not to lose her in the crowd of students heading for lunch. I see the doors to the courtyard slam shut, rushing to them I pushed my way outside.
I found Annabelle sitting in a tree with her wings folded around her, staring at the sky, deep in thought.
"Hey." I said softly.
"Hello, Chase." She said, glaring at the sky.
"What's wrong?"
"That teacher has no idea what it was like during the Revolution." She sneered at the word teacher.
"Where you there? During the Revoluction."
"Not by choice."
"What happened?"
"I had a lead on my father. I was told that he would be there but I never found him. Instead I found innocent people being slaughtered. I could not stand for it. So I fought but no one ever saw me. I was one with the shadows, killing British generals in hopes that it would help. But it was like trying to kill a hydra, cut off one head and two more grow back." She looked down at me before jumping off the branch she was on, landing gracefully in front of me.
"I'll see you tonight, Chase." She said, kissing my cheek before heading for the door.
I do love her. I love everything about her.***
I fixed my shirt for about the hundredth time as I walked towards Annabelle's house. It's a small cottage in the middle of a beautiful meadow. There are flowers along the walkway as well as hanging from pots beside the door. Before I can knock the door opens and standing there is an angry guy I have never seen before. He tall with shaggy brown hair and rich brown eyes. He was also not wearing a shirt, showing off a very muscular chest that most girls swooned over.
"Hi, is Annabelle here?" I asked trying to keep my anger in control.
"Aye, come in. She's gettin ready." He said with a rich Scotich accent, holding the door open for me.
The inside of the cottage was homey. Everything was furnished, the table, a couple of chairs and the coffee table. There was also a fire place with a fire burning.
"Have a seat, lad." The guy said.
I hesitantly sat down on a black leather couch. The guy sat down across from me, grinning widely.
"I ne'er thought that Anna would fall for a human again." He said, looking me up and down.
"Your not human?" I asked eyeing him.
"Nope." He smirked.
"How long have you known Annabelle?"
His forehead crunched up in thought. "Hum...about 80 years. She helped me when I turned."
