𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐨𝐰𝐬

this school is fcking boring. I thought to myself as I sat in a class trying to educate me about outcast history.

I raised my hand, and ask to use the restroom. I took my bag with me and all my things as I left in the middle of class to my dorm. I put my stuff down then too my phone then climbed out the window. I climbed on the roof until I had a clear jump out of Nevermore. I put my airpods in and played my playlist as I walked alone in the woods.

About an hour into my walk I noticed the wind got heavier, and it started to sprinkle. The rain came down fast and was extremely powerful. I tried not to get my phone wet and I ran through the woods, ruining my perfectly white shoes as I ran through the mud. Honestly, it was exhilarating. My heart was beating quickly and I reached the main road. I decided to head to Jericho so that I could hold off getting in trouble for a couple hours longer. I was walking at a faster pace now. I reached Jericho and went into the coffee shop with hopes of seeing Tyler.

I walked up to the counter as soon as I saw the brunette boy. "Hey." I said as he looked up at me.

"Y/N. Hey." He said as he looked back down and continued making an order.

"Want to hang out right now?" I asked him quickly.

He stopped with the coffee and looked up at me with a grin and said, "My shift ends in an hour if you want to wait." 

"Okay." I said as I left to sit at a booth.

About an hour later Tyler comes to me with his apron off. "Where to?" He said.

"Take me somewhere. I dont know the area at all." I reply getting out the booth.

"Want to go to my house?" He says with a grin. 

"Sure."

He then held his hand out notioning for me to hold it. Once my hand was in his I felt butterflies in my stomach. The rain had stopped at this point, but the roads and sidewalks were all still covered in a blanket of cold rainwater. We walked and talked getting to know eachother for about 10 minutes until we were in front of his house. There were no cars there, so Im pretty sure we were going to be home alone.

We walked in, and instead of a warm inviting feeling, it was rather cold. There were no family pictures anywhere, there were several beer bottles and multiple cigarette receptacles everywhere. He guided me upstairs to his room. His room was surprisingly clean, and he had several movie and band posters all around the walls. I sat down on his bed while he picked up the little mess there was. 

"What do you think?" He said looking deeply into my eyes.

"Youve got really good taste in movies." I said staring at his Scream 1996 movie poster.

He sat next to me on his bed and he wrapped his arms around me and his hand was suddenly on my waist. His touch made me feel safe. So safe, that I rested my head on his shoulder. It felt kind of awkward at first but then we both relaxed into it.

"Do you ever just want to run far far away. Like leave everything and everyone." He said, breaking the silence. 

The question caught me by surprise at first but then I responded, "Yeah all the time. I ran away about 2 hours ago from Nevermore. Would gladly do it again. That place makes me want to die. Everyone is pretty weird and I dont feel like I belong there."

"Thats kind of ironic. Arent people from Nevermore people who dont usually fit in? Outcasts?" He responded with a soothing tone.

"Yeah. I fit in at my other schools, my parents sent me here for like zero reason at all." My phone ringer then started going off. I picked it up and it was Enid. 

"Y/N! Mrs Weebs is looking for you! Where ever you are you need to come back now. It seems serious." Enid said frantically. 

"Ok ok. Calm down im on my way." I said as I hung the phone up. I stood up and so did tyler. I looked up at him and gave him a deep hug. I stayed there for about 30 seconds feeling extremely calm. "Im sorry. Hopefully we can do this again some time." I said, still hugging him.

He pulled away then said, "Yea-" The door downstairs then slammed shut.

"TYLER." A man said. "GET YOUR ASS DOWN HERE." He said again.

"Fuck. You have to go like right now. He going to beat the shit out of me." Tyler said panicked. He went near the window and opened it. He looked outside of it as the footsteps started going up the stairs. "Your going to have to jump and do it quickly." He said.

I rushed towards the window, "Please stay safe. Bye Tyler." I said as I jump out the window just as the footsteps were outside the door. Ouch. Rough landing. I started running towards the woods as I hear his dad screaming at him. I felt bad for him, leaving him there alone. I hoped he was alright.
