'I opened my eyes but I couldn't see anything, darkness surrounded me like those cliche scenes from shonen where the MC is doing a monologue with himself. I tried to move but nothing happened. Suddenly the lights lit up the room, blinding me for a moment.
"Heh, looks like someone is awake"
I heard a voice coming from my right but I was still blind from the lights. Slowly my vision came back and I was able to see where I was.

It was a room full of equipment and televisions. I tried to move but I was tied to a chair, on my right I saw a man with dark skin and very long hair.

The man was staring at me with a creepy smile.
"indeed old friend, it looks like our "buddy" is ready to talk"
I followed the new voice in the room and saw a man around his forties sitting in front of me, wearing a black suit and glasses, smoking a cigarette with a neutral expression.

"W-who are you?" I asked the man in front of me, trying to hide my fear
"Oh sorry, were my manners? My name is Seumadrugs, a pleasure to meet you." The man said, taking a drag from his cigarette.
"Seumadrugs? what kind of name is that?" I asked the man, wondering how he came up with such a strange name.
"I can ask you the same, Pussyslaywer69" The man said in an intimidating tone. I was shocked that he knew my name.
"W-w-where am I?" I asked him, hoping to change the subject.
"You are with your betters, my friend. I wanted to see the face of the author who keeps appearing in my recommended tab" The man answered my question, taking another drag from his cigarette. "So far I find the experience rather...underwhelming"
"I-is that so?" I ask him, scared.
"I'm afraid it is" The man with long hair beside me answers.
"W-who are you?"
The man chuckled a little and looked back at me. "I have a lot of names, but you can call me Ice Heater" He answered, getting a little too close to my face.
"Can someone please tell me what is going on here?!" I Screamed at them, in panic. Seumadrugs threw his cigarette on the ground and stared at me.
"I'll be honest with you. Me and Ice heater here are fellow Wattpad authors like yourself. The difference between us and you is that Ice Heater and I try to make this website a better place and we try to get rid of insane authors...like you."
"What? I'm not insane!"
"Do you even know the definition ...of insanity?" Ice asked me, staring into my eyes.
"Of course I do! I played far cry 3!"
Ice smiled at my answer. "Oh? then could you tell me?"
"Insanity is doing the exact same thing over and over again, expecting different results" I explained to him, trying to make them see reason. "I'm telling you, I'm not insane!"
"Really? I find that hard to believe. Ice, could you?"
When Semumadrugs called him, Ice took off his phone and gave it to Seumadrugs. Who started to read out loud.
"Pussyslaywer69, joined in May of 2020. 420 books" I widen my eyes in surprise as he started to read my profile. "All of them have a maximum of 3 chapters 2 of them consist of a bio and a Harem list. All of them take place in different universes but have the same protagonist...Toad Skywalker, who seems to have different appearances and powers in each book despite being the exact same character. Your view record was 150k but after that, you seem to struggle to make another hit." Seumadrugs finished reading my profile and glared at me. "Seems to me that you're quite insane."
I was at a loss for words, I didn't know what to say. Suddenly Seumadrugs got up from his seat and walked to the exit.
"I would love to stay but I have to take care of my little Qilin." Seumarugs said, staring at me. Then he looked at the Ice heater with a smile. "Ice...he's all yours".
Seumadrugs left the room and Ice got up from his seat and stood in front of me smiling.
"A-a-a-a-are you going to k-k-k-kill me?" I asked, Stuttering like Izuku(Aka a little bitch).
"Nah, I don't wanna deal with disposing of a body." Ice shrugged and smiled. "I actually wanted to watch anime with you."
"Oh?" I was surprised by what he said. "Anime sounds nice." Ice nodded when I said that.
"Yeah, we gonna watch my favorite one, it's perfect to watch with the family" Ice turned the tv on "You go on watching while I'll get some popcorn for us" He smiled at me but...I couldn't shake the feeling that there was some malice in that smile.
"Oh ok!" Ice left as the anime was about to start. I was starting to calm down...until I saw the title and started to scream in fear.

Standards are important.
A person's standards are a big part of the personal worth and value in society. The lower the standards the person has, the higher the chances of them producing and accepting bad quality products, activities, etc.
Normally, someone with low standards tends to follow a crowd for they don't have any actually good ones so they just follow the popular opinion. Is one of the reasons why Wattpad is such a shitshow.
Most users accept the garbage that most authors publish here, this motivates authors to make more shit and motivates normal users to start making shit.
But the thing is, most of these authors only follow the crowd. So once they see that their work isn't getting any attention they abandon their work and make another shit book about a popular theme instead of improving their work.
This behavior not only explains the terrible trends such as "Abused and Neglected" and "Union academy" but also explains why some authors have an absurd amount of books in their accounts.
They follow trends but don't know how to adapt their stories to said trends so their books always end up the same. This is the reason why most of their books have the same Oc as the main character. Despite taking place in different universes.
These authors also have an ego so high that it can reach the moon. They don't accept criticism and claim that "They only make stories for fun" despite their behavior telling you otherwise.
Here's a thing that everyone needs to get in their heads. If you don't want to be criticized then don't publish something for everyone to see. It's that simple, Once you make something public you're bound to find people who will criticize your work. It's up to you to listen and improve your work or ignore it and keep making shit.
But that comes with another problem on Wattpad, and that is the Fear that users have of criticizing someone's work. only 2% of the Wattpad community criticizes works, the rest either stay silent or praise shit books despite the book being shit. Unless people start to speak up their minds, this website will still be a shitshow worse than genshin impact and RWBY.
But that's my opinion. What are your thoughts about it?
Anyway, I wanted to apologize for the lack of updates. Normally I make 3 chapters every week but I was really sick for a long time so I could barely focus on writing.
