Jaiden ran toward the lake, stopping right before the water and fell down onto her knees, sobbing. She has been played, again. She has had enough of them, too many times her heart has been tossed around. She sobbed quietly, the bush rustling behind her. She didn’t care what was in the bush, she didn’t care if she got hurt, she didn’t care about anything, she just wanted to be comforted and loved by someone who isn’t her family.
She’d feel a warm jacket being put on her shoulders, someone was here. She’d quickly attempted to stop sobbing, now just hiccuping and sniffling. Jaiden looked up from her knees to see a Baseball Bat looking at her comfortably. She’d blush, “Are you okay dear?” Jaiden looked away, a wave of guilt and embarrassment washing over her. The baseball Bat sighed, smiling warmly, “It’s alright, you’ll be okay.'' They hugged Jaiden, their wooden tail putting down the lantern next to them.
“What’s your name dear?” Jaiden leaned on the baseball bat’s shoulder, “Jaiden..what’s yours?” she’d mumble. “What a nice name, I’m Baseball Bat, but you can call me bb or bat.” they’d rub Jaiden’s shoulder as she slowly drifted to sleep into their arms. “Okay bb…” Jaiden finally calmed down and relaxed in Baseball Bat’s arms, she’d smile.
Baseball picked up Jaiden gently and put them down next to a tree, letting her rest their head on her shoulder again. Jaiden held onto Baseball bat’s hand, squeezing it subconsciously sometimes. BB hummed a calm melody, resting her head lightly on Jaiden’s and they soon fell asleep.
It was morning now, Jaiden woke up holding BB’s hand and also holding the jacket. She’d blush, looking up at BB to see her watching the sunrise. “Hm Oh, goodmorning dear!” she was about to let go of Jaiden’s hand but she’d squeeze it a little, keeping her hand close. Baseball Bat blushed and smiled at this small action, softly kissing Jaiden’s forehead. Jaiden snuggled up against Baseball and giggled. The two watched the sunrise as they rested in each other’s arms.
