*FIRST PERSON POV*

it's been a while, well, about a few months

nothing has really happened between leo and i.

WELL, he said happy birthday to me, which doesn't sound like a lot, but when it comes from a person you really like, ITS EVERYTHING.

also, i'm not sure if i'm going insane, but you guys remember that jul girl? from my group in english?

yeah, i get this feeling her and leo like each other. i mean, whenever there was a sub in social studies, they would sit together along with emma, but he seemed much closer to jul compared to emma.

i'm not sure if i'm overthinking it, but due to all the signs and everything i've been seeing, i kind of get the vibe they like each other, or are dating.

OH! i mean i got him a christmas gift, which he seemed to really like. he texted me saying how much he appreciates it , which made me so happy.

-FLASHBACK TO DECEMBER 21st-

"im so scared to give it." i tell ivey.

"bruh don't be, just give it, and get it over with." she instructs.

"what if he doesn't like it?" i start to doubt myself.

"that's his problem, and he's ungrateful." she rolls her eyes.

i dressed up nicely just for him. i mean, i always do. today, i was wearing a green plaid cardigan, black skirt with black stockings, a white top, and black boots.

i brought this blue gift bag which contained the gift i got for him. inside was a green koala thag had a little heart in the middle of it, which my brother won at the fair, his favorite candies (which i found out from my friend jul) which were kit kat and jolly ranchers.

the koala bear almost broke the bag considering that it was a BIG FAT BUT SUPER CUTE koala bear.

as the day continued , and the closer the time got to the end of the day, the more nervous i got , and the more i wanted to back out from giving it to him.

i couldn't even focus on what i learned, cause my head just revolved around this one thought.

this could either go good, or really bad.

it was english class. last period.

we were all sitting in rows, i was sitting behind ivey, behind me was jul, and behind jul was leo.

as class was going, jul and i were emailing each other on the chromebook's talking abt the gift.

mel- i'm so scared to give him the gift

jul- just do it

mel- what if he doesn't like it?

jul- he probably will

we kept going back and forth about the gift, and my hands started to sweat.

the bell rang, and the day was over. it was the moment.

jul, ivey, emma, and i all stood together and we all looked at the gift.

"i'm so scared." i say shaking.

"go for it, it's gonna be okay." jul reassures , and i nod.

we all left the classroom , and exit out of the building, and i saw leo.

"i can't do it." i tell them.

"DO IT, HES RIGHT THERE." they all yell at me.

he continued to walk further and further .
