chapter three
Oh God. Oh my dear God. He was glorious. He was amazing. He was beautiful. He was-- he was perfect!
If I was an emoji, my eyes would have turned into hearts the moment I saw him. Gosh.
When we shook hands, there came tingles and sparks on my body. I don't know if he felt them too. Maybe.
Gosh, the feeling was strong. He was strong. He was handsome. He was addicting. Goddamn I can't forget about him. And his name-
Damon Vasilakis.
It was quite strange but it has a different feel to it. I don't know but it is definitely not an American name. Maybe it was Turkish? German? Russian? Greek?
Oh, Greek... Greece. Just thinking about it makes me feel giddy. I've always wanted to go there but--
"Aray!"
A strong smack on my forehead kind of woke me up, clearly interrupting me from my thoughts.
"Are you even listening?" Aunt Savvy looked furious.
Ah-uh. No.
"What was that?" Aunt Savvy asked, "I thought I told you to just take out the trash? Bakit may kasama kang lalaki? Who was that? Your secret boyfriend or something?"
I was bewildered by her last question.
"No! Definitely not! He's not my secret boyfriend. Nakasalubong ko lang siya and then he introduced himself to me. Hindi ko alam kung anong sumapi sa'kin at nagpakilala rin ako." I explained, hoping she believes me. It was all truth, after all.
"What?! Why would you-- ugh! What if he was a rapist or a robber or even a kidnapper that was trying to lure you into a trap, what would you do?" she pried.
"If he was any of those, I wouldn't be here talking to you, Aunt." I deadpanned.
I didn't quite understand why she was so worried about this when, clearly, I was infront of her in one piece- safe and sound.
"Why are you even that worried, Aunt Sav? I asked her, paying attention to what she'd say.
But her answer was not what I expected.
"Because your mother and father told me to take good care of you before they.... died. And I only want what is best for you, darling. You've really grown into me."
I was left speechless. I didn't know what to say. She wasn't really like this.
So instead of saying anything, I hugged her tight, as tight as I could.

After that little drama, I went home.
I was still a little stunned- okay, maybe alot- at my Aunt's sudden outburst and of course, the Greek God, Damon Vasilakis.
So I did a little something. I called my best friends, Anjellika and Khaxandra Evans. And yes, they are sisters.
I've known them since we were still babies so it has been quite awhile.
Putting the phone against my ear, I whispered, "Hello?"
Which is a bad idea.
"Jesus Christ! Why the fuck are you calling? It's already late. We're trying to get some beauty rest here, woman!" yelled Khaxandra.
God, I swear I heard my eardrums pop.
"Yeah, I know. I just wanted to ask if you two want to come here now? I'm all alone and I swear, I feel like someone's watching me." I said. It's true, I just forgot to be cautious about it but it was still there. Like I'm being watched 24/7.
This time, it was Anjellika who answered. "What the hell?! You disturbed our wonderful sleep just for that? Okay, we'll come."
