Crisp air, sparsely running against the small portions of exposed skin. Our target was direct for the cartel, in hopes for Hassan. Surely, I had a doubt in me that we weren't going to spot the man as we were expecting. Tracing the tracks of Alejandro's, I'd stay behind his rear.
Crowding just beside a gateway, our lead for now, Alejandro made the call. His foot stomping through the aged wood, swinging the entrance wide open for our team to sweep through. Clear shots throughout our inspection of this small town, took by the vicious cartel. Oddly, I felt chained, cuffed to the parts of melancholy that lingered within the atmosphere. I could question a million times why that I got so distracted.. Not just by me thinking constantly, also by the person I was so intrigued of. My boots pattered beside our head, "Secure this house. Then we go for Hassan." Alejandro kneeled, reloading his weapon. Identifying my hurried legs, "Yes sir." I respond, "Heads up, they're ready." The male breached between his sentence. "Soap, move behind." Ghost directed, uncertain about the unpredicted command.. I'd follow through. Pressing against the door, cracking it just enough to observe. Finally breaking into, Soap took cover.. Staying close enough behind. The yells of men echoed down the hall we were just about to wipe out. The home was crashed, a thick scent of tarnished bullets dabbed with a tad of smoke. Inhaling through it all, I triggered my weapon. A male who fell, groaned out. Blood leaking from his wound, I could only step over him..

"Clear." Soap announces, as for our team, we'd enter the spacious room. Curiosity seeking over me, I'd ask, "What happened to the families here..?"
Alejandro who scanned out the area, answered, "The cartel brings violence, so they leave." His tone low per usual. Although, a peck of anger set just beneath all that. "Get ready to move." He told. Moving in, my fingers would mess with the lock of our exit which was outside, the open. Pausing action as Alejandro set his palm against the paint, "Stand by."
Setting his knee against the tile, my eyes were caught once more.. The figurine in a short distance, glare foretasted. That skull masked man, he wasn't difficult to look at. Shaped like eclipses, they stoned me into place, observing our communication from where he crouched. Was there an issue? Something in me told my nerves that he was craving my individuality, like as if he wanted to tell us.. Or me a particular thing. In singularity. It was as if he was telepathically speaking unintentionally, again, his eyes spoke more than his masked lips could ever. My daydream was broke by the voice of the one and only, Soap. "Where's your family, Alejandro?" Just like that, Alejandro gave a look to our sergeant that threw daggers that could slice through the skull. "I keep that a secret, hermano. To protect them."
"We have concealment.." Ghost barked, who inched up from behind us two. His footsteps so silent, not only that but he was quick.. As for I only looked away from the male to what felt like seconds. Just again our gaze would meet, they kept meeting. This whole mission, so odd. Our lieutenant had a way with his gaze, and for I wanted to call him out for it. But I held my breath tightly, my biggest question was, what was his problem?

Making it into a room, thrown papers.. Opened windows, a mess scattered throughout the floor. Swept, another negative on Hassan. It was sure that the Cartel must of moved him, and Alejandro's intel was good.

Everything was drowned into a gallon of stress, as it seemed the cartel had hired a pack of furious men to fight out with Alejandro's teams. We covered for them, but it came to the point where we struggled to take it all in just the palm of our hands. "Clear out!" Alejandro yelled, hopping out from the back window.. It was good slide through the rocks near the back. A mountain area where we sprinted through obstacles and such a gorgeous view welcomed us.. Maybe me, specifically. Fighting the urge to square myself up against a battle with a heavy fear of my own. Squished, pinned against the edge of stone the worry of falling to meet with death was handled by fate. The only possible view I could get was the trees and natural habitat beneath me. A section of the rock held my weight, however, my body didn't dare to take another step. Hyperventilation scraping at my lungs, my luck.. Was Soap who jogged beside. He must of picked up on my expressive fear, in some way this was his ideal on how to comfort me in this situation. His fingers gripped around my wrist, the feel of nails digging harshly into my skin.. I was sure he must of been afraid as well, though he has done such missions before. I am completely sure, and for I have dealt with such positions before too, though.. Thinking that doing it a few times would cure the fear.. of course it only made things worse for me, "Come on, come on.." Soap spoke lenient, his words slipping out into a whisper. His skin drenched with his sweat, as he crammed against the side of my torso. Dense breaths were caught in my throat as I tried to edge my feet closer to our objective the best I could.. Taking up a bit too much time. Soap was patient with me during the moment, "You've got it.. You've got it. Come on." He continued to whisper to encourage. So close to our exit, I felt almost as If I was being suffocated. "Don't look down, Shrimp." With that, my foot made it onto stable ground, "Ah~." I huffed out, the amount of air I could finally gulp in was taken away by the grasp of Soap. He ran me down to meet up with the other two men. Just one of them only watching us two, and who could that be. His fingers clenched to the grip of his gun, it wasn't too hard to feel the tension he gave off. I knew he was irritated, not by the fact that Soap helped, by the fact that I was slowing all of us down. I understood, the only words Ghost would say.. Was two that bothered me. "Keep up."
"Yes Lieutenant."
Obeying this, I'd follow the leaders. Right into a trap where action took for a turn.
Our coordination conducted us to a dead end, one that I would regret for months. Dragging my tracks near the edge, all the air I could possibly breathe in caught perfectly in my throat. "Wait.." I'd grumble out, unaware that Ghost seemed to note my eloquent emotions. "You led us to a dead end!" I shriek, Alejandro would flash a look of stun. As if he figured I was afraid, "We jump from here!" He announced, "Don't lose your weapon.." His final words before he drew near the rim, dropping himself down the cliff into the clear water from below. Soap who grew closer, he gained my energy. Placing a finger on my emotion, carefully the male took a step in front of my point of view. Backing his weight near the end, "I-.." I stammered, "Come on, take your chances.." His words came out as if there were no one else around, his gaze captivated my own paralyzing me in place, paralyzing the time. "Close your eyes. Hold your breath." It was quick, a tiny smirk fetched his lips as he took one last step, and it only took him a second before he could reach, cupping his fingers around the wrist he once held. All too fast, as he fell backwards, dragging me right after him. This period, I'd brace myself for the impact.. As for now, there was nothing else I could do other than shut my eyes. A strain in my stomach sucked up all that fear, threads of hair slipping out of the knots my mane tied. Unwanted tears escaping, streaming out to stain my porcelain, fair skin. I caught the shout of Soap, who cheered before our bodies could hit the water. The stroke of pain locked in our exhausted bodies as we both began to swim up for a good breath of air.

'A bundle of questions set his brain like never before, 'Why was she so afraid?' The picking of her nails against her pale skin, the habit of her teeth nibbling around the muscle in her lips. He noticed almost all possible changes she proclaimed physically, the night she associated herself within his life. He didn't think much of it, stone cold. He was, but.. He may have been just as curious as she was. Though, Simon wasn't one to put that so openly forward. Personal struggles, deep issues. A package of it, non could be fixed.. Either way, nothing can ever be fixed once it already has been broken.'
