A loud alarm and the intrusive scent of smoke filled the room, as they ran around their house turning off the oven and opening the windows to release the smoke. "Agh! God dammit!" They shouted, as they nearly tripped over their own feet. They brought over a chair to reach the fire alarm, and began fanning the smoke away from it. Covering their mouth and nose to prevent them from inhaling it, they coughed a bit due to the thick black air.

The alarm stopped, and they jumped off the chair and speed walked to the oven, where they had attempted to bake a cake. They quickly slipped on their oven mitts that had been hanging over the stove, and opened the oven. A cloud of black smoke escaped, and they covered their mouth and nose once more. Their eyes began to water from the lack of oxygen, and they stumbled over to their back door. Stepping outside, they took a deep breath to relieve their lungs from the pressure the smoke had put on them.

Sitting on the grass, they rubbed their eyes and took a few more breaths. They let out a huff and began to rise from their spot in the backyard, and walked back into the house. They jogged back to the oven, and reached in to get the cake. Setting it on top of the stove, they closed the oven and put their oven mitts back in their place. They huffed as the walked down the hall to their bedroom. They flopped onto their bed and hugged their pillow. 4 months. I cant believe they still didn't catch that killer... They thought.

Turning over, they reached for their tv remote and put on a random Disney movie and began to fall asleep.
