*Knock knock knock* Rose hears the knocks faintly in her dreams, but misses the sound of her dads voice through the door, "Sweetie, it's almost time to go in and make the arrangements, we're leaving in an hour if you'd like to come." "Rose?" "Rose?" He says knocking 3 more times, he finally decides to slowly open the door and the sound of the door opening wakes her up. "Oh hey dad, I'm sorry did you need something?" "Yea me and mom are going to go into the funeral home in an hour and wanted to know if you'd like to come with?" "Oh yea, of course, let me start getting ready." "Alright sweetie," her dad says as he walks back out shutting the door behind him. Rose yawns again before sitting up and just sitting there for a few minutes thinking. *Inside roses thoughts* "Gosh I still can't believe mamaws gone. Things are going to be so weird here without her.... Speaking of weird I wonder why I can't remember anything before 7, and mom keeps changing her stories about my past, and what's up with mamaw saying she was looking for special gems with some sort of.. magic power... gosh this is going to be such a weird trip."
Suddenly her thoughts are interrupted by another knock... but.... this ones... coming from THE WALL!? Rose being very scared now hoping she only heard things because of how distracted she was looks over to the wall, not daring to move, she's holding her breath waiting for another sound. Suddenly she hears another one and at this she jumps up backing up against her desk looking for a weapon, she finds a pencil and decides this will do. As she's standing there scared a rat suddenly runs from where she heard the noise earlier. She lets out a little squeal but sighs relieved it's just a rat but still gets scared and jumps onto the bed.
Suddenly her mom appears looking concerned as to why she's on the bed and asks if she's going to go or stay home, but assures her it's completely her choice. "I think I'm going to go mom, I'm actually about to start getting ready right now." "May I ask, why are you on the bed like that?" Her mom says chuckling, "Oh, I saw a rat and it scared me half to death." Her mom suddenly goes towards the same wall rose heard knocking earlier and looks behind the mirror standing there only to reveal a dead rat in a trap. "Oh I'm sorry sweetie I thought you remembered we had a little problem with rats, we have traps set up around the house but it looks like it's dead so you should be all good." "Oh lord I do not remember that at all," Rose says contemplating wether or not she should tell her mom about the knocking. "Alright well we're leaving in about 30 minutes." "Oh yea I was just about to start getting ready." "Alright well dad and I are downstairs holler if you need us. " Her mom says leaving the room shutting the door. Ok let me see what I've got to wear she thinks to herself.
