Rosalynne's POV:
I walked into the bathroom and saw my mom, standing there, as well as Deja and Cristina. Turning to Cristina and Deja I said "Oh, I see you've met my mom." Then I turned to my mom saying, "This is my dog sitter Deja, the one I told you always spoils my Lily, and this is her sister Cristina." I had a big smile on my face that went somewhat crooked noticing everyone's awkward and somewhat shocked faces, I couldn't help but to wonder what was wrong. After standing there for a few minutes and nothing being said I finally turned to my mom and said, "So what's up? Why does it seem so gloomy in here?" She seemed to be thinking very hard and kept opening her mouth slightly but couldn't seem to make words. I spoke up once more, "mom?" That's when she turned to Deja and Cristina and said a quiet, "I can explain." This left me even more confused and I was just about to speak up when suddenly I heard Deja say, "Why did she just call you mom?" Seemingly holding back tears. I was beyond confused now and looked back to my mom as if saying, what does she mean? "Sweetie," she paused, "It's- well it's a long story." I was starting to get a little panicked at the situation wondering why no one is saying anything and why everyone has become so gloomy and clearly upset. I looked around between everyone in the room, my heart was racing, and finally my mom looked to me and said, "Honey, I, well there's something you should know," I got even more scared at this statement and started to listen intently, "Deja and Cristina, there your- your," she paused as if she couldn't find the words, "My what?" I said somewhat loudly, "your sisters." Now I was beyond shocked and at a loss for words, all I could think to myself was what are you talking about and wondering if this was some poorly timed prank. I finally sat down on a little bench that was behind me, feeling extremely dizzy, with my mind just running. My mom sat Deja and Cristina next to me and we all shared a hurt and slightly scared look fighting back tears, before looking back to my mom. She started to explain, "Guys, I- I know this is a shocking time and you may be wondering what's going on. Just know I really do love you all so much." She briefly paused and I just wondered if I could even believe anything she says. "Rose, Deja and Cristina are your half siblings, Cristina's adopted and Deja's fully mine." I just kept wondering how she could have kept this from me and remembered Deja's age and put together she would have cheated on my dad in order to have her. I immediately asked "Does dad know?" With a loud sigh. She looked briefly hurt, but I wasn't buying any of it, she replied with a quiet no, it was almost hard to pick up on but I heard it loud and clear. I immediately let the tears go, "So you just cheated on him and had two other kids? How long has this been going on? Are you still with their father? You have to tell dad." I just couldn't stop the questions. That's when Cristina spoke up.Cristina's POV:
As Rosalynne kept asking questions, I began to get curious myself. I gave my mom, if I can even call her that, a minute to speak up, however, when she failed to talk, I spoke up. "Mom, what are you talking about? You have another family? How- how is this possible?" She yet again wouldn't speak up so I lost my temper and said "TELL US!!" I instantly felt bad, and Deja touched my hand letting me know she's here for me. I gave her a little smile before turning back to mom who finally said, "To answer your questions briefly, and I- I know it's gonna take a lot of explanations but I'll try my best. Rose," Rosalynne cut her off saying, "Don't call me that, that's what dad calls me." She continued after a brief pause, "Rosalynne, it breaks my heart, but yes I cheated on your dad. I'm so sorry it's just- we've been unhappy for a while now, and I know that's not an excuse and we seemed happy, but we just weren't. It wasn't an easy decision to have more kids.. but I just was so in love with Peter." She was interrupted by Rosalynne again, "That's his name, Peter?" Mom sighed before nodding. "As I was saying I was so in love and I just needed to have a family with him, it's not that I didn't love you or wanted to replace you its just that he was amazing and stole my heart. Yes I'm still with him," I could tell Rosalynne was extremely hurt by this and looked at Deja and I moved to her other side and we both held her hand giving her a slight smile, it wasn't easy, but we knew she was just as hurt as us. Mom seemed to be a little more relieved by this and smiled but me and Deja gave her a stink eye letting her know this changed nothing of how we felt. "Cristina," I cringed at her saying my name so easily, as if nothing happened. "To answer your questions, yes I have another family, and as I told Rose," Rosalynne looked up meanly clearly wanting her mom, well our mom I guess, to stop using her nickname. "Sorry, Rosalynne, as I told her, I just fell out of love with her father and I met your father and we just fell in love. He gave me things Rosalynnes father hasn't provided for me in years. No offense Rosalynne it doesn't mean I don't love your father, I do, just not the same as when we met 42 years ago." I interrupted this time, "42 years?!" My jaw dropped at this, "Uh- yes- 42 years but that doesn't mean anything." Rose broke down crying even more at this making me feel so hurt for her. "Rosalynne, I didn't mean it like that I promise, anyways, I think that sums up most of it. Girls I'm so sorry, I know I should've said something, it's just that I love you all and I'm so happy with all of my children and this changes nothing of how I feel for any of you."Rosalynne's POV:
I couldn't believe the things my mom had just told me. I still had so many questions but I was brought back to reality when someone walked in to use the bathroom, they looked us weirdly, clearly wondering why everyone was crying. I said "I have to tell dad," before I jumped up and pushed past my mom, softly of course. She followed me closely behind, with Deja and Cristina closely trailing. "Sweetie, sweetie, please don't tell your dad, I'm begging, I'll do anything." Just as we turned the corner I saw a man I didn't recognize and turned around to my mom saying, "I'm telling dad, this is not right, give me one good reason not to say anything." The unknown man started to come closer, I thought he was trying to get around us to avoid this conflict, but he walked up to mom and had the audacity to put his hand on her shoulder and say, "Babe, what's going on?" "BABE?" I said a little too loudly, "this is him?" I lowered my tone again as to not draw attention. He looked at mom and she gave him a look back and he finally seemed to understand. He went to say something but decided against it, he grabbed Deja and Cristina, telling them it's best to follow him to the car, they reluctantly did so. "Please don't tell your dad, I promise it'll all make sense soon. I may not love your dad in the way you want and I'm sure he wants, but I do still care for him and this family. Please, I promise to tell him soon, I just need to do this on my own." I replied, "your going to tell him now, and if you don't I promise you, I will." I said clearly angry with my teeth bit together. "Mom, if I can even call you that, I'm going to step outside for some air and your going in there to tell dad." "I promise I will sweetie," she replied as I walked out. It seemed everyone had left due to the fact the last car was pulling out from the parking lot, aside from my dads of course. I guess that was Peter. I just kept thinking of poor Deja and Cristina, I know I should be focusing on me, but there so young. I just can't imagine how this is going to affect their lives. After what felt like an eternity but was really 6-7 minutes, my mom and dad walked out. I was a little confused because dad seemed happy. I looked at my mom with a raised brow and she excused herself as my dad went to start the car. "So how'd he take it?" I asked annoyed. "Well I didn't tell him, before you say anything, I promise I will it's just, it's not the right time ok." I rolled my eyes with a huff and a quiet, "unbelievable." That's when I saw my dad leave the parking lot, I straightened up and looked worry, "I thought you didn't tell him?" "I didn't, I may have told him we're staying with an old friend tonight, I just I need to explain more and it'll be better to do so with everyone. You, Deja, Cristina, Peter, and Landon." "Wait who's Landon?" "Oh, um, well he's your half brother," she said with her mouth going sideways and a slight pitchy tone. "Seriously there's another one? Omg, I can't even." She looked a little sad before nudging me and we both started walking. We walked two blocks in silence, with me staring at my feet and kicking random rocks I saw along the way, clutching my cardigan tighter as it was cold. We reached a car and she got in as I stared for a minute, before finally getting in with her. I buckled up and we drove at least 15 minutes before either of us dared to speak. "So, we're going to Peter and I's house. I know it's the last place you want to go.. but it's important you hear everything and I can talk to everyone at once." I let out a little sob, still unable to believe what was happening. I just decided to stare out the window for the rest of the car ride. We finally pulled up to the house, it looked nice and cozy, don't get me wrong I still hate it because it's my moms second family's home, but it's a nice house. We got out and I could see four figures sitting in the living room, one must be Landon. We walked in and low and behold Lily ran up to me excited. This made me cry even more, I mean the audacity, but at least Deja took good care of my baby. I reached down petting her, before slowly moving to the living room with everyone else. My mom introduced me to Landon and we both gave awkward smiles and a weird wave. He looked the same age as me and that made me even more upset, how could she be hiding this since I was born. I was still crying but sat down between Landon and Deja with Cristina on Deja's other side and Peter and mom sitting across from us. Lily came up and sat half on mine and half on Deja's lap, we both pet her as we waited for mom to say something.Until next time adventurers :) Hope your all enjoying my story so far and have a great day love you all <3
