Molly's pov

I'd been avoiding Ally ever since the incident at the laser tag, and it was likewise for her.

Maybe it was for the better.

I lashed out. I confessed. I- wasn't being the best.

I was still wrapping my head round it all.

I wanted- no, needed to talk to her!

But what would I say? Oh, 'sorry for confessing my undying love, it was an accident'.

I've seen enough cringe teen movies with my mum to know that you have to stay angry for a little while longer.

What those said cringy teen movies forgot to say is that staying angry is the most painful thing EVER!

It's not like Ally was talking to me anyway.

I walked into English, and took my seat, taking out my purple pencil case, the same purple as Ally's beanie.

Nevermind.

I started the assignment on the board.

Write a small paragraph about an emotion.

Okay, I could do that!

Ahem:

Love, what a strange thing. So beautiful, and yet, so terribly hateful. Like two birds fly towards the same south, yet one hits a window, and the other continues in its path. It kills, it hurts it stabs, yet to live without would be pain and misery. Utter loss. Betrayal, heartbreak. All possible symptoms of this dangerous game. Yet we play. We play and play and play. When will we win?

I, myself, was very proud! It conveyed my emotion perfectly.

I was smiling at my work, when my teacher spoke up.

"Now, does anyone want to share? No? Hmm, what about you, Molly?"

Oh.

Unfortunately, I woke up.

I was half hoping to keep sleeping so I wouldn't have to talk to Molly.

Why did that happen!? Did I ruin my only shot!?

Maybe my dad would understand if I didn't want to go...

Nah, I'll go.

It was mentally draining. I was exhausted by everything.

I wanted to say hi every time I saw her, but I just couldn't.

I needed to avoid her.

So that day, after school, I walked up to reception and asked if I could come in early the next day.

I was rather surprised when the lady at the desk agreed.

I walked along the leaf scattered pavement. The wind was cold and unforgiving, my hands frozen.

It was dark.
