Pokéfic of the Month!

APRIL: Lonely by @NyxAbsol

Here we are with our very first Pokéfic of the Month! The special Pokéfic for April is 'Lonely', by @NyxAbsol - a sad, emotional oneshot featuring a "lonely" Absol.

What Genres/Emotions The Story Elicits: Sadness, pity, and agony.
Other Comments: A oneshot worth crying about - not only from the beautiful grammar and vivacious language, but from the depressing, mournful struggles of Absol. The plot also flows very smoothly, especially for it being a oneshot.

We both love this oneshot with a burning passion. We highly suggest it; a sad story that's beautifully written can't be ignored.

When we told the author we'd be featuring her book, we asked some questions to help see what she experienced during her writing of this lovely oneshot~

When asked, "How and when did you start writing Lonely?", she answered, "I don't really remember, but I think it was sometime in March. I had a whole ton of fanfictions to write. Since I had writers' block, I was determined to make the best fanfiction ever written. That's how Lonely was written." Whoa, determination really is necessary!

When we asked her what she had in mind for the plot of Lonely, she answered, "At first I just wanted to have a sad fanfiction with Absol in it. But while I started writing it, it started getting darker and darker, and I wanted to convey better how Absols were misunderstood, so that's how I came up with the plot." Wow, the writing experience itself really makes you inspired, too!

Then we asked her what she thought of the end result of Lonely, and she answered, as good-naturedly as always, "I was actually pretty satisfied with the end, but I think it could be improved slightly by making it more emotional and less... Awkward."

Last of all, we asked her what message she wanted to convey for all the Absol-haters out there. She answered, "I want them to see Absol in a different light, not just a disaster Pokemon. They're just a regular Pokemon who want to help humans, so why hate them? I just want them to give Absol a second chance

Absol-haters, please listen to this gal! By reading Lonely, your coldhearted opinions of Absol might just turn around!

We accidentally posted the article for May while the month was still going on - since June's POTM (Pokéfic of the Month) would be posted at the beginning of July, we thought the delay between updates would be too long. So, we bring to you April's POTM.
