Finally!

It had be three weeks since the red carpet event and James was still going through the last few scripts he took home that night. He sat in his recliner concentrating and reading through one of his more preferred scripts. This was his second read through of it and he was going into it more in depth and taking notes. He sat there wearing his usual dress pants, dress shirt and vest as he had been out earlier in the day taking headshots for the newest season of the Blacklist. He had his usual fedora on his head leaning a bit more forward than usual to give him a bit of tunnel vision to focus on the script.
Penelope walked past him and into the kitchen, massaging her breasts in an odd fashion. She grabbed some yogurt from the fridge and went back into the bedroom and continue scrolling through social medias on her phone. "Honey, could you grab me some water? I just remembered as I laid back down." Penny called from the bedroom. James sat up and went to grab the water. "Still feeling crappy?" He asked handing her the bottle. "Yeah, my boobs are killing me and I'm just feeling bleh today. I think I'm starting my period soon." "Take some Advil or something to help. I'm gonna finish up this script." James went back to the living room recliner, sat back and continued reading. Penelope opened up the yogurt container and gagged almost instantly at the smell. James heard the gagging noise and stumbled up from his chair & went back into the bedroom. "Are you okay?" He asked, increasingly concerned. "Yeah I think this yogurt went bad, it smells horrendous. I'm sorry, I just-" she gagged again. "Oh god take this." She held it out to him. James grabbed the yogurt and looked at the label. "It's Strawberry banana...expires next month..." He said while examining and sniffing the container. "It smells just fine, Penny, are you sure you're okay?" Penny grimaced and nodded. "Yeah, I don't know something about it put me off." "Do you want me to get you anything else?" "No, no that's ok." She held his hand for a moment to reassure him. James put tin foil on the yogurt container to preserve it for himself for later as he placed it in the fridge.
He decided to join Penelope in the bedroom to read his script, to keep a closer eye on her. "Coming for snuggles?" She asked, seeing him palm his hat and place it on the table. "Soon, love. I want to go through this a bit more but I wanted to do it next to you." He smiled, comforting her, and went back to reading. After a short while Penny complained a bit about some minor cramping and she went up to the bathroom. James glanced over from his side of the bed as she waddled off. She came back out moments later and said, "yeah just my period, I have some spotting" before she lied back down in bed. "Sorry, love." James said, helping her back into bed. Penny rolled over and snuggled into his arms, "it's all good, babe."
An hour passed and Penelope had dozed off and James was just finishing his script. He looked down at Penny and laughed to himself. He then glanced at his watch, which read: 3:50PM. "Hell I should take a nap too" he said to himself as he began to unbutton his shirt when Penny's cell rang. Penny grabbed her phone as it woke her and raised it to her ear sleepily. "Yuh." She answered the phone. "I broke my leg." A familiar voice on the other end said. "Sarah?" Penny picked her head up in confusion, the voice woke her from her nap. "Yeah, I broke my leg. Could you pick me up from Lenox?" Penny sighed heavily but agreed to grab her. "Sarah broke her leg and needs a ride home so I'm going to go get her real quick and bring her to her place." Penny told James as she got off the bed. "I'll be here, honey. If you need anything, call."
Penny took James's car and went to pick up Sarah. She entered the hospital wing and found Sarah being wheeled out into the lobby in a wheelchair by a nurse. "Bestie!" Sarah exclaimed playfully when she saw Penny. "Don't play girl, what did you do." Penny replied with attitude. "Wow ok, um..." Sarah didn't expect having to explain herself immediately. She processed the question for a moment and awkwardly mumbled, "tripped over the sidewalk while chasing a lost dog..." "Sarah!" "It was a Frenchie!!! Clearly it deserved to come home with me and I wasn't going to let-" "alright ladies," the nurse said interrupting the two, "remember to keep pressure off your leg & keep the cast dry." The nurse left the two girls alone. Penny grabbed the handles of Sarah's wheelchair saying, "let's go." As she began rolling her out, an older woman was walking by with a young man assisting her greatly. "Wait" the woman said as she pulled towards Penny. Expecting that she was recognized as an actress, Penny began to smile preparing to handle a fan. "May I touch your baby?" The woman said reaching out the Penny's stomach. She immediately took offense as this woman thought she was pregnant because of how large Penny was. "I'm not pregnant." Penny responded sharply. The woman kept moving her hand toward Penny and the young man assisting her looked puzzled. "Of course you are, I can feel it." The women responded. "Mrs. Rotello, we should get back to your room." The man tried nudging the woman away but she remained adamant. She finally placed her hand firmly on Penelope's stomach and without moving it, said, "Strong will and a strong mind." Penny moved away a bit, skeptical and uncomfortable with the situation. She grabbed the wheelchair handles again and continued rolling Sarah out.
"Well that was rude of her." Sarah blurted out when they were far enough away. "Tell me about it. But I didn't forget your sidewalk and dog story." Penny said sharply. "So are you pregnant?" Sarah asked, excitedly. "No, bitch" Penny said, astonished. "If I was pregnant don't you think I'd tell you. I just started my period anyways so." "You can bleed and still be pregnant." "Okay Dr KnowItAll." Penny got to the car and helped Sarah in. "Look, I'm just saying if you are on IVF & actively trying, you could be pregnant." "I'm bloated, my breasts hurt, I'm bleeding and I'm tired okay? I'm on my period." Sarah shrugged and put her seatbelt on as Penny put the wheelchair back with the hospital. Penny threw her crutches behind her.
Penny drove Sarah back to her apartment and helped her to her floor. She sat back in the car after dropping Sarah off and zoned out for a minute, thinking. Before heading back home she stopped by a local pharmacy and grabbed a pregnancy test and took it in the pharmacy bathroom. "Positive." She bought another, and a large bottle of water. She chugged it in front of the cashier who looked at her awkwardly. She took the 2nd test. "Positive." Penny shook inside of the bathroom, unsure of what to tell James. She was elated that her dreams were coming through but also scared that nothing was really real. She feared for a moment that she would wake up from this dream. She hurried home where James already had dinner prepared for them. James, still dressed from the audition, looked extremely dapper in their kitchen lighting.
"Ooh beautiful." Penny said seeing the spread of food he made. "A feast for my queen, I hope this all is to your liking." James said sitting down and beginning to eat. The smell of the food was a bit strong of Penny which was unusual but she remembered again why that is. She sat and began eating. They sat across each other at the table just enjoying their meal when James said, "I've ordered us some cheesecake from junior's. It should be here in an hour with how the rain is tonight. How was Sarah?" "Oh yeah, that's probably why she fell. She was chasing a stray dog and tripped on air or something." James gave a large belly laugh before saying, "oh that's Sarah for ya." The air, now less tense, was still thick with anxiety according to Penelope. "Can we talk?" She asked nervously, her leg now bouncing. James moved his chair closer, looked into her eyes and gently placed a hand on her leg trying to comfort her. "I'm pregnant." Penny blurts out. James face went from comforting to utter shock and disbelief. He immediately stood up and wrapped his arms around Penny. "Baby, I'm so fucking happy." He said, almost shaking. Penny hugged him back, glad that he was happy about it all. "We're going to have a beautiful baby together, create our own little family.." James started rambling about how amazing this would be.
After a few hours of shock, celebration and planning, Penny told James about how she found out and the weird woman she met in the hospital lobby. She took a shower and headed for bed. Before James did anything else he went outside when Penny fell asleep. And took his hat in his hand, spread his arms and looked up. He closed his eyes & felt the radiant mood waver away. He was so overly thrilled and excited to be a father again & he felt so much lighter letting all his anxieties go without speaking a single word.

He let out a quick scream of happiness and went Back inside their place. Penny was half away after hearing his scream. She looked at him confused. "Just making sure I could still function properly after that." "Yeah it's a big group decision and all-" "what? Group? This is a baby you're growing inside of yourself! I merely donated semen" James replied. "James it's not like that, it's our baby." "Sure but I'm not going to tell you what to do about the child you're carrying. I'd love to have a mini you running around but this is your body." "James." Penny paused when she called him. It almost centered his mind for a moment. "I'm keeping the baby. You and I will have a family." She softly said. James gripped her and pulled her in, kissing her softy. "We are a family." He muttered, smiling.
