The look on Anko's face gave it away. No matter what words she managed to stumble out, Y/n knew the truth. In silence, Anko walked to the kitchen counter. She kept her back to Y/n as she slid the coffee to the granite top. Y/n wasn't going to push the issue. She'd let Anko work through it. The likelihood that Madara had threatened Anko with her life is excellent.

"You know I can't answer that," Anko's voice was calm as she replied. "I think you should leave."

Standing, Y/n left her coffee behind as she approached Anko. "Come with me."

Whirling, Anko looked at Y/n, "What?"

"Don't ask questions," Y/n extended her hand to Anko, "just come with me."

Blinking, Anko thought over her choices. Was this a trap? Would Y/n kill her? She knew Madara would. What other reason would Y/n have to take her somewhere? Would Y/n take Anko to Madara? Were they working together now? Is that why she hadn't stayed with Obito?

Nodding, Anko said, "Let me grab my phone."

"He'll track it," Y/n corrected. Reaching forward, she took hold of Anko's wrist, "We leave now, or you're never going to see tomorrow."

That was it. Anko knew whatever Y/n had planned was for the best. Quickly, they headed down to Y/n's car. Keeping her eyes focused on the cars around her, Y/n drove as fast as she could. No phone calls. No stops. Nothing but her plan.

When Y/n parked, Anko began to panic, "What are we doing here?"

"This is one time you're going to have to trust a stranger," Y/n turned the car off, "We hardly know one another, but I know what you're tangled into."

Without another word, Y/n exited the car. Anko followed in haste as Y/n jogged up the steps. Into the building, Y/n only nodded in acknowledgment as she passed the people she knew. Straight to her destination, the women entered. Closing the door, Y/n waited for the questions to start.

"This is a surprise," he thought Y/n would begin explaining herself. "What can I do for you two?"

"Is Zabuza here?" Y/n asked. "She needs to speak with both of you, Kakashi. And she needs witness protection."

Anko paled, "You can't be serious. I can-"

"You can," Y/n snapped her head around, "and you will. You can consider this repentance. As well as doing the right damn thing. I could've left you there, Anko. Madara would've sent Zetsu to pick your ass up before I even pulled out of the parking lot. I'm sure he'd have his fun with you before killing you, but I saved your fucking life. Now then," Y/n crossed her arms, "What were you saying?"

Shock etched her features, and she looked at Kakashi. "I'll go grab Zabuza." Is all Kakashi offered before standing from his desk.

Left alone again, Y/n looked at Anko. Deciding to give in to the rage filling her, Y/n stomped to Anko. Rearing back, Y/n let her hand land across Anko's cheek. Anko didn't even attempt to move when she realized what Y/n was doing. Anko deserved it. Every bit of it. Even more.

"Was it even worth it?" Y/n's voice cracked.

Turning to look at Y/n, they were both surprised to see tears in one another's eyes.

"No," was all Anko could manage before Kakashi and Zabuza entered the office.

As Zabuza closed the door, he made sure it was locked. His brows lifted as he looked at Y/n. "Mind explaining what's going on?" He asked.

"I think this is for Anko to tell," Y/n answered as she moved to sit in one of the chairs.

Staring at the men, Anko suddenly felt very exposed. The ordinarily confident woman had no idea what to do. How to present herself. How in the hell does she tell this story? What will they think of her? She's known Kakashi all her life. He will have no respect for her after this. No one will.

Y/n could see Anko was struggling, "This is the only way you live, Anko. This is the only way to survive. The only way to show remorse."

Nodding, Anko walked to the chair beside Y/n. As she sat, Zabuza and Kakashi walked to the other side. Kakashi took his seat while Zabuza leaned against the wall beside his friend. Neither male could prepare for the story Anko was about to tell.

"About a month ago," Anko kept her head hung as she spoke, "a man approached me at work. He told me that someone important wanted to have a meeting with me. I was skeptical, as well as scared. When I told him no, he told me that it would be terrible if Iruka had an accident that night on the way home from work." Lifting her head finally, she said, "I met with Madara that evening."

"What?" Kakashi was genuinely shocked.

Zabuza, not so much. He suspected what the subject was, though, not the context. "Continue," Zabuza said plainly.

"He wanted me to drive a wedge between Y/n and Obito," those words stung Y/n, "Bring doubt into their marriage."

"I'd say his plan worked," Kakashi said lazily.

Narrowing her eyes, Y/n spat, "Your commentary is unnecessary."

Kakashi only shrugged while Zabuza asked, "Is there more?"

"He-" Anko looked away again, "He marked me. I went against his wishes, so he scarred me."

"He did what?" Y/n grit out.

Keeping her eyes cast downward, Anko stood. Shakily, she turned around as she pulled the back of her shirt up. A collective gasp was heard as the skin on Anko's back was exposed. There was no denying the design that was etched into her skin. While the flesh was smooth and unscathed, it was inked and permanent.

The Uchiha Crest, in black, white, and red, stared back at the three. The threat Y/n never heard but always expected. Why would he mark Anko? Why didn't he mark Y/n? He had every opportunity to do so. Y/n wouldn't have even fought him at one point during the time she was under his control.

"I will slit his throat," Y/n's words were stern and true. "That bastard deserves to bleed out like the animal he is."

Kakashi looked at Zabuza while Anko fixed her shirt. Zabuza could see the worry in his friend's eyes. With a quick shake of his head, Zabuza turned to look at Anko as she sat back down.

"I can't offer you witness protection unless you agree to testify against him," Zabuza wasn't trying to be cruel, but it was the truth.

"There won't be a trial," the words made Kakashi and Zabuza worry. "Don't look at me like that." She told the men, "You both know the only ending to this godforsaken ordeal is his death. I'll take the blame for it. No matter how it happens. I have one thing to take care of before I can go after him."

Knowing there was no arguing, at least not now, Zabuza asked, "And what is that?"

Y/n's eyes cut to Anko. Jerking her head, Kakashi took the message. Standing, he guided Anko into the hallway. Leaving Anko with Shikamaru, Kakashi entered his office again. The tension was thick as he waited for Y/n to explain herself.

"Tani and Tora," Y/n said. "I have to get them out in the open. Tani can go to prison for a list of reasons. Tora, I'll need him to admit what he's done for Madara over the years. Rasa needs to fall too."

Pushing off the wall finally, Zabuza dropped his arms. "IA (internal affairs) is investigating Rasa as we speak."

Nodding, Y/n continued, "Good. I don't want his kids to suffer, but Rasa deserves whatever he gets. I should let Madara take care of him."

Snorting, Kakashi moved on, "What about Tora?"

Mulling over her response, Y/n said, "I know what I might be able to use against him to make him turn against Madara completely. He's already hinted at killing Madara."

"Why wouldn't you let him kill Madara? Then we can arrest Tora?" Zabuza was trying to speak to the rational side of Y/n. The rational Y/n was long gone.

"I will be responsible for Madara's death," the words were chilling.

Could she do it? Would she be able to watch the man die that saved her life more than once? While he's done plenty, had Madara ever HURT Y/n? He's always claimed to have her peace of mind and life in his best interest. So many variables. So many options. So many emotions. So many lives.

All these admissions. Where do they go from here?
