It was Marinette's first day as guardian. At the same time, Plagg, Nooroo and Duusu run into each other, which was hilarious. They tell Plagg of Hawk Moth's true identity, but he's too focused on his cheese to tell Adrien. He once again literally acts like nothing big has happened, and this wasn't even the first time. He saw the Peacock in Emilie's heirloom portrait and completely ignored it. So Nooroo does it himself. Duusu doesn't say who Mayura is, but Hawk Moth was the real problem. Adrien finds it hard to process this, feeling a little unsafe. But as long as his father doesn't know he's Cat Noir he is safe. From then on, Adrien regularly talks with the 3 of them. The Kwamis agree to keep this quiet. If Hawk Moth ever found out, he could try to seize what he's looking for. From that day forward, Nooroo and Duusu visit him frequently while Marinette watches over the safe ones. Both heroes gain a complete glowup and makeover in the hero outfits, which is a sign they are growing close to stopping Hawk Moth. With the help of Master Fu, both heroes memorise the potions needed for different kinds of climates.

They reveal who they are to their best friends without a choice because they were going to change back in seconds. Marinette knew there was no way to conceal it, so she revealed herself to Alya. Adrien had to do the same Nino, and Plagg was like "busted". So with the help of their friends, they win the fight. At Marinette's house, she immediately apologises for letting Alya see this because never meant to. But Alya actually took it lightly. After all this time, her best friend was the heroine of Paris. That really explains a lot. Marinette thought she'd go insane, but not this time. She can and will keep this secret, and Marinette knows she will. Because she witnessed her getting the miracle box, she is introduced to Tikki and the rest of the Kwamis. Sass knew she wouldn't do it on purpose, because it wouldn't be very responsible of her, showing Alya he acts as the leader of the group. But he wouldn't say self proclaimed. Tikki could lead if she ever wanted to. They could only imagine Chloe's reaction, with Marinette being her enemy and Ladybug being her hero, which they and the Kwamis laugh about. At the very same time, Adrien reveals his identity to Nino. He tries not to freak so hard, but he thought it was hard to believe because both Adrien and Cat Noir seem so different. Adrien guesses it's one way to express himself, and introduces Nino to Plagg. Alya and Nino promise to keep this secret as if it were their own, proving they are indeed worthy holders. They are the only ones who know and nobody else, and they helped the heroes test out the combinations, going crazy with dress up, and the potions.

Alya even proved who the real fox of illusion is around here when Volpina struck again. She created an illusion of Cat Noir now Cat Blanc about to kill Ladybug to take her miraculous. However, Rena Rouge quickly brushes it away refusing to see something traumatic. The real heroes assure them they will never be akumatized as civilians or heroes, no matter how hard Hawk Moth will try. The foxes duel, agreeing this city isn't big enough for 2 foxes of illusion. After a little of struggle, even if one fox can use her power feely and the other can only use it once. Rena Rouge ultimately prevails because there are things Volpina doesn't have. Friends, an actual miraculous and good intentions. That illusion of hers may have not been so effective, but it did one thing. It expressed how much of a monster Hawk Moth really is.

A few other things happened around Paris as well. Ladybug apologises to Cat Noir about her behavior during their fight with Psychomedian, but they put the blame on the villain himself for that as well as all the times Hawk Moth's minions effected them with their powers. Adrien begins to see Natalie as his 2nd mother, being one of the only 2 people in the household who cares about him counting his large muscular bodyguard. Viperion showed some brotherly love by rescuing Juleka.

Adrien eventually takes up the courage to show Marinette a portrait of his late mother. Marinette asks what happened to her, so she takes a deep breath and tells her the story. Before he was allowed to go to school, his mother came down with some kind of sickness. She kept blacking out and fainting so much, and one day she just disappeared. He kept asking where she was, until Natalie finally broke the news. That's when his father started to become distant and over protective. Adrien misses her each day, wishing to see her one more time. Marinette comforts him about everything, but she is able to cheer him saying that even though she's gone he still has her, Alya, Nino, Chloe, Natalie, his bodyguard and all his friends. Touched, Adrien hugs her. Their Kwamis were watching from afar, and Plagg denies that he's crying. Nooroo on the other wishes Gabriel could just accept his wife's death, and if only Adrien knew.
