Monday was the worst possible day in the world. It was cold, you had an exam, and on top of that, you had a migraine. Your eyebrows furrowed as you buried the lower half of your face into a scarf you had draped around your shoulders. You continued walking until you were stopped by a voice calling out to you.

                                                                                         "Hey!"

You stopped and instinctively cringed at those words, and a slight pain rushed up your face, a reminder that your migraine was still there. God, you wished he would leave you alone just one day; it's not that you hated him. He was just annoying and loud. But YangYang was one of your only friends, plus people weren't keen on bullying you whenever he was with you, and he put up with your apathetic attitude. He was a safety blanket, but most importantly, he was your best friend, but you'd die before you told him any of that.

You look over your shoulder at the tall boy running over to you and adjust your backpack. "Hey, YangYang." You had hummed out to him in a soft voice.

YangYang had finally caught up to you. He had exhaled loudly and leaned over a bit, a dramatic display of how tired he was from trying to run after you. "You walk fast! Geez, weren't we supposed to walk together to school?" YangYang lifted his head a bit to meet your gaze, a playful smirk on his lips.

Oh fuck, was that today? Your lips pursed, and you stuffed your hands in your pockets. "I forgot." You said simply to him, and he exhaled a bit louder- YangYang wasn't upset with you. In all your years of knowing YangYang, you had known him as a pleasant boy who couldn't get angry if someone had paid him.

After a minute, he stood up and gasped, "Ahh~ You forgot me!" he put his hand on his forehead. "I'm wounded! Genuinely and truly," He smirked at you, then adjusted his bag. "Okay~ I'm better now. Let's go~" his flare for the dramatics had made you exhale out of your nose. You nodded, a small smile suddenly made its way to your cheeks, and with that, the two of you made your way to campus.

                                                                                          〰☄〰

The walk to campus wasn't long, as the two of you had lived only two blocks away. It did feel like the winter winds had lengthened the walk. You shuddered as you held your jacket closer to your body. "Did you hear about what happened with Director Moon?" YangYang had started, and he looked over to you. You looked up and raised an eyebrow to hear that you had not heard what happened to the Director of your school. "He went missing, well- he hasn't been seen at or around the school; Mr. Huang is covering for him until he returns." As the two of you walked, he explained, "NingNing thinks that he got kidnapped because she saw him fighting with the Coach and the biology teacher, and he supposedly looked weird, like his eyes were red and bloodshot, and his skin was all bruised; oh, I heard all this from NingNing." NingNing was a grade under the two of you and his younger cousin who lived with him.

"Did she end up telling a teacher?" You asked him and looked over at YangYang, "That's a dire thing to say." Your lips pursed a bit, and he shrugged.

"Not that I know," He hummed. "Plus, I just think Director Moon got bored of our school~ Wasn't it our class that made Mr. Suh quit?" His eyes twinkled in amusement at the memory of the prank the boys of your graduating class pulled on the counselor, which caused him to quit.
