Anastasia wasted no time preparing dinner. It didn't take that long, as it was a can of braised steak and onions a with 2 minute noodles.
The thought of payment was gnawing at the back of Kakashi's mind. Mr. Paws sensed something was wrong. He had know Kakashi for 14 years since he was born before...
Kakashi stood up abruptly. "What's the catch?" He asked suddenly.
Mr. Paws scoffed. "What do you mean?"
Kakashi looked him dead in the eyes. "I'm not stupid. Anastasia, you would never do this out of the goodness of your heart-"
"Anastasia has goodness in her heart?" Mr. Paws muttered cheekily under the table, earning him a kick in the gut.
"- so what's the catch?" Kakashi finished.
Anastasia looked sheepishly at her empty plate. "Yes, there something I want to get out of this," she mumbled. Then, looking up, Anastasia said, "When we get back to the Leaf, I want to be a ninja."
Kakashi looked at her. "You can't be serious."
Anastasia looked back. "But I am," she replied.
Kakashi looked bewildered. "We don't even know if you have chakra!"
"Lee doesn't have chakra," Anastasia shot back.
"Look, Kakashi," Mr. Paws began as the copy-cat ninja walked off. "She has chakra."
Kakashi stopped. "Prove it," he said without turning.
Anastasia walked over and lifted up her sleeve showing something that looked like a purple snake tattoo winding it's way around her upper arm. Grabbing Kakshi's hand, she placed it on the mark. Kakashi let out a gasp.
"I know," Mr. Paws agreed.
"That's so much..." Kakashi murmured, then, straightening up, he said, "I'll teach you.-"
Anastasia started to celebrate.
"On one condition."
Anastasia stopped.
"You need to buy me the next Icha Icha book."
"You pervert," Anastasia muttered under her breath, stifling her laughter.
Kakashi was unimpressed. "Yes or no," he deadpanned.
"Yes!" Anastasia cheered, giving Kakashi a hug.
Kakashi peeled the girl off of him. "Good. I also have a few other conditions. 1. Until I fully trust you, don't hug me. 2. I get a sleep in. 3. If we get back to Konohagakure, please don't tell anyone what I look like under my mask."
Anastasia grinned. "It's not if we get back to Konohagakure, it's when."
