"Look, I didn't mean to you know.. break his arm, it was an in the moment thing and I was mad at him." Kyle defended
"Ah yes, sometimes I go out for a bit of a walk and maybe to get some food and then I accidentally break someone's arm, of course." Kat joked sarcastically
"Its not like that-" Kyle said
"So what exactly is it like, you just broke someone's arm, Kyle." Kat told Kyle
Kyle stayed silent, not replying to what Kat had said.
"Whatever, just be mindful, okay?" Kat warned "Anyways, I came to report something bad...worse than cat killers." Kat said
Kyle raised an eyebrow
"And that would be?" Kyle questioned
"Complete towm destruction, a dangerous person or group have their hands on a bomb with enough power to destroy the whole city..and they know that your a vampire" The cat explained.
"Well thats definitely not good." Kyle sighed
"I don't think I've ever heard anyone sane say that a bomb strong enough to wipe out a whole city is good" the cat joked once more, "I suppose it's about time I asked, I have a group of people, people who may be seen as 'monsters' like you but we all try our best to keep the city safe, if you manage to complete this maybe, if you wanted, you could join us?"
"What is this, an avengers movie?" Kyle laughed
"My offer still stands." Kat said
"Yeah, okay, and where exactly should I go to defuse this bomb?" Kyle accepted
Kat stayed quiet for a moment
"Uhm, good question, just uhm, meet me tomorrow night in this park at 1:30 am, alright?" Kat requested.
"A bit unnecessarily early but okay." Kyle awnsered "And did you literally just make that time up on the spot?"
"Well, look at the time, it's 12 past midnight, I best be heading off!" Kat quickly responded before scurrying off into the dark.
Kyle tried to reach out and get anymore information he could but it was too late, Kat was already gone.
Kyle remembered when he first met Kat properly,...
Sunday 31st July 2022
Kyle sat down on a bench, looking up at the night sky and thinking of what to do with himself. After what happened things became difficult but he managed to work around it, asking to do collage from home and making sure that he didn't go out in the direct sunlight. Although he missed his Saturday nights, when he would hang out with his friends and mess around. That was all ruined since the incident. The problem was that Kyle was wrong, Clyde didn't come back and he was still missing, they decided to stop going out on Saturday nights for a bit while they tried to find Clyde. It was all Kyle's fault. If he had just noticed, if he was quick enough, if he had turned around in time, if he hadn't fainted. Thoughts of how it was his own fault filled his head. He couldn't get rid of them. He should have done something.
Kyle was too far in a haze of guilt to notice the cat stroll nearby, begining to approach him. It was only when the cat leaped onto the bench and sat beside Kyle that he actually noticed them, snapping him out of his thoughts.
He saw something in the cat, a familiar feeling occurred."Yeesh, what happened to make you so miserable?" The cat asked
Kyle's eyes widened slightly in suprise, a talking cat?
"Excuse me?" Kyle responded
The cat smirked a bit, "Sorry, I was just asking what was up, you seem sad."
Kyle sighed and rubbed his eyes with his palms.
"Someone went missing, I was the last person seen with them and I have no fucking clue where they are." Kyle explained
"Oh, that's rough but I mean, you were going to loose them one day anyway, right?" The shapeshifter tried to comfort
It didn't really help.
"Is that supposed to make me feel better?" Kyle muttered
"Take it in whatever way you want, I don't really care, I'm mainly here about that whole vampire thing ya got going on." The cat said
"How did you know...?" Kyle
“Well when you focus on one person out of a whole city it's more easier to tell stuff.” The cat cleared up.
“Okay, well, why have you been watching me, are you a creep or some shit?” Kyle asked in suspicion.
“No, I just noticed something was wrong with you so, I focused on what was going on, your never out in the sun and you have fangs.” the shapeshifter explained
“Im fine, I'm just, I guess I just wished I could have done something.” Kyle sighed
“You know, if it makes you feel any better, I messed up once, not just once, alot of times” The cat looked up at the stars in the dark sky “Her death was my fault, I was too dumb to really understand, and it was over such a petty reason- now I'm told she's one of those stars in the sky, it would be funny right, if we all became stars?"
Kyle sat in silence, beginning to look up with the other sat next to him,
“You know, if I could ever revert that mistake, I'd do it, but, it happened when I was pretty young so, I guess I don't really remember her anyway.” The cat said “You know, first it's their voice.”
“What do you mean by that?” Kyle questioned
“Well, first you start to forget what they sounded like, then you forget a bit of what their personality was like, then you begin to forget what they look like, you start to mix them up with other people until, until you don't remember them anymore.” the cat looked upset, but not in a 'about to cry' upset, just regret and a bit of sadnesses. “Hah, and now I've left behind everyone I know, I just hope, that maybe someone will still remember me, I can't ever go back now, it's too late.”
Kyle nodded in understandment, he didn't really feel all that better, but atleast he knew someone that could relate at least a bit, the only problem was that he had no clue who this even was, who knows they could be someone horrible and he wouldn't even know.
“The person I lost, they might be missing, I still have hope atleast” Kyle smiled, it wasn't really a happy smile but not an entirely sad one either.
It was hope.“Well, I wish you goodluck, but maybe I could help you out a bit?” The cat offered “I can easily fit through small spaces n' stuff plus I'm quick, so I think it would be useful, and I do know a few things about vampires maybe I could try help with that too?”
“That would be nice.” Kyle was now looking at the cat.
“Ill see you around,” The cat jumped off the bench, and he walked away his paws making small padding noises when they walked through the puddles on the pathway.
...
Kyle couldn't help but feel some kind of comfort around Kat, he saw them as a freind that helped him through this, a freind you could probably trust, he just hoped that Kat trusted him too. One thing Kyle did notice was that Kat was definitely right about the time, it was late and Kyle didn't really think there was much more things he could sort out right at this moment in time so it was a safe bet to begin heading home. His foot splashed through puddles, sending drops of water upwards due to the force he put down on his foot. His apartment was in veiw, and he began to walk inside the front doors, slowly making his way through, careful not to mess up and wake anyone up. When he reached his floor he opened the door Stan was still asleep, actually he was snoring. But that didn't matter, Kyle knew Stan probably wouldn't notice him since he knew that Stan is a deep sleeper.
Kyle sat on his bed and unlocked the pin on his phone. He began to look at news, at any Information on the situation. But there wasn't much he just ended up looking at different news articles. But time went quicker than Kyle expected and soon he noticed that it was about 7 in the morning. How did Kyle even stay on his phone that long? I have no clue tbh//
