Timeskip:

   I laid in the bed, wrapped up in sheets that aren't mine yet still felt like home. A muscular arm wrapped around my bare waist, tugging me closer. I fidgeted uncomfortably.

  "Go to sleep, it's too early," he mumbled.

  "Sorry..."

  "It's fine. Just sleep."

I sighed deeply through my nose.

  "Not for waking you...though I do apologize for that... I mean for everything else."

My hands found his resting against my stomach and I laced my fingers through his.

  "This isn't fair to you," I whispered.

His hand gently squeezed my own.

  "I don't mind as long as you're happy."

  "But I want you to be happy too."

His lips softly brushed against the nape of my neck and I shivered. After pressing his chest closer to my back, his teeth grazed the outside of my ear. I bit back a whimper.

  "I have you for now. That's enough for me."

   Once he had fallen back to sleep, I carefully crept out of the bed. Slipping into one of his t-shirts and my underwear, I checked the time on my phone...4:39 AM. I took my phone with me into the kitchen, clearing the notifications from the one person I really didn't want to talk to. Six months and he still wouldn't leave me alone. Pouring myself a large mug of coffee, I curled up on the sofa, scrolling through my contact list. I reached the bottom and pressed 'call'.

  "Akane-chan?"

  "Hey, Yukio-kun," I smiled at the voice of my best friend.

  "What are you doing awake? It's still early for you right?" His voice was full of worry.

  "Don't worry about me...I couldn't sleep is all."

  "Hmkay," he sounded unsure. "How's university going?"

  "It's exhausting but it'll be worth it when I can finally come home."

  "I can't wait. We miss you so much," his voice softened. "But obviously I miss you the most."

  "I miss you too," I laughed quietly.

  "Any idea which team you want to work with when you come back yet?"

  "Honestly...I'm leaning more towards our national men's basketball team...

...but I know there's a chance I'll end up seeing him."
