A smile on her face
and a blink of fear
She knew better than anyone
that to dream was rare
But still, her days were
filled with memories of her past love
and hopes for a new one. That was her mistake,
expecting perfect from a soul
left dismayed
by a world so cruel
to manage, he left. That was his mistake
thinking the pain ended
the day he jumped
the ground was hope for him
but she curses at it everyday
Was there an easier way?
Perhaps, to be swallowed whole
by the earth without a trace? It wasn't fair
to neither of them
to be punished for crimes
they did not commit,
for their existence to cripple in hatred
and to whisper in pain
But she hoped nonetheless,
that the smile on her face
would last for more than a dayThat the blink of fear
would disappear
And that we were allowed
to be in pain
but to still have a cure
that the heart could dream
for a better world
and an everlasting loveI hope he's doing much better
but I doubt the answers
were at the bottom of the bridge
but at least he believed
that the weight he felt would
become lighter while he jumped.
