I drive and drive, just to look for her. She's nowhere to be found. Mentally, i'm beating myself up for not kissing her. I craved her lips on mine, but I needed it to be perfect.

She wants me, I know that much. Otherwise she wouldn't have ran away. It feels good to know she wants me, but I still feel like shit for not kissing her. We both wanted it, I just wanted it to be what she deserved. She deserves it all to be perfect for her.

"Salem, please. Where are you?" I grunt as I call her again, but am once again met with her voicemail.

I sigh and throw my phone into the passenger seat. There's no clues to where she is. It would take ages to find her, because knowing her, she knows how to hide from me. She's too good to be true.

My phone dings and I immediately pick it up. It's a message from Blade.

Blade: Salem just called. She seemed upset. You know anything about it?

Me: Yes.

Blade: The hell did you do?

Me: Don't worry about it. Did she tell you where she is???

Blade: She's not with you?

Me: Forget it. See you at the house.

I throw my phone into the backseat and continue driving. I'm almost out of gas, and I still can't fucking find her.

I'm thinking about turning around and going home, but right as I pass a field, there's something that catches my eye.

A shack. The same one Salems mother lives in.

Quickly, I make a turn into the driveway. As I near the shack, someone runs in and slams the door behind them.

A guy. Who the actual fuck?

I park my car and walk up to the house before knocking on the front door. Salems mother opens the door and smiles, "Abel! It's nice to see you again."

"Nice to see you too." I say, a half smile on my face. "Salem here?"

She raises a brow, "Why would she be here?"

I gulp, "I figured she'd come here. We got in an argument. Married couple stuff, I guess." I chuckle anxiously.

"Yeah..." she trails off, "Well, she's not here."

Just as I'm about to turn around and leave, a man comes up behind Maia and clears his throat, "I might know where she is."

"Who even are you?" I tilt my head.

We've been sitting outside in these plastic lawn chairs for about an hour, talking about Salem, he hasn't told me a single time where she could be, or even how he knows her.

He stares at me for a moment before taking a sip out of his plastic water bottle, "I'm her brother." he says, wiping his mouth. "Adriano. She hasn't talked about me?"
