Keahi threw open the door to the castle, storming down its halls frantically looking for everyone. She grit her teeth so hard that a muscle in her jaw started to ache.
She should be with Elsa. But she was wrapped around her finger and couldn't refuse what Elsa was asking. She understood the request but the need to be with her was overwhelming.
She ran into the throne room. Anna jumped in surprise and Kristoff stepped in front of her instinctively. Sven let out a grunt and Olaf hid behind Anna's leg.
Pips, however, didn't hesitate to run at Keahi who swept her up and didn't falter in her strides towards the group.
Behind her, Jarrah and Saphire rushed into the room.
"Honeymaren and Ryder are out there helping Elsa while trying to get the rest of Arendelle evacuated." Jarrah breathed out in a rush, sweat glistening on his skin.
Saphire had a smear of dirt across her forehead as she let out a tired breath.
Keahi turned to Anna and Kristoff, "We need to leave, now. There's an army of Draugar at Arendelle's door." Keahi hugged Pips more when the girl wrapped her arms hard around Keahi's neck. She felt the tension in the air. It was so thick you could cut it with a knife.
"Draugar?" Anna asked, but Kristoff ushered her toward the rear of the room.
"There's a secret passageway towards the back—" Kristoff started, a low rumbling enveloping the room.
Near the throne, black wispy shadow flames swirled like a portal. With one heavy step, Crow materialized from its confines. Keahi didn't hesitate as her heart sped up. She squeezed Pips before handing her off to Anna, who took her gingerly.
Tears started in Pip's eyes as she held out her hand to grasp for Keahi, but Keahi had already turned. She blasted a wall of blue and purple flames between the group and Crow. They didn't burn; no smoke rose from the flames as they danced along the carpet.
But when Crow tried to pass, he hissed and reeled back, holding his steaming hand. "Good control. You've gotten stronger, sis."
"Yeah, the key is to not be an asshole," Keahi growled, turning to look over her shoulder. "Get everyone out!" She yelled. Kristoff nodded and ushered the entire group toward the hall.
Another portal of black flames swirled in their path as three Draugar stepped from the darkness.
"You didn't think it'd be that easy, did you? If you don't surrender, the pregnant one and the child are dead." Crows gravel voice flitted over the flames.
Sweat dribbled down Keahi's chin and she flicked her wrist as her flames started to extinguish. She promised Elsa she'd safely get Anna, Pips, and the others out of there. But Crow was on the other side of her flames, more Draugar behind her. They were trapped. Her mind raced, trying to figure out what to do. If anything happened to any of them, she didn't know what she'd do with herself.
"Fine," Keahi whispered, she heard the shuffling behind her, cuffs and chains were being put on the adults.
She had an idea, and she prayed it worked.
The Draugar split the group behind her. One of the skeletal creatures separated Pips, Olaf, and Sven from the adults who were being cuffed.
As Crow stalked his way over, she flicked her wrist behind her back. Mimicking the way Elsa's magic flowed in beautiful lines of blue. Her magic started to wisp in elegant swirls of purple-blue, surrounding Pips, Sven, and Olaf. The ground outlined in scarlet below the trio, erupting into sparkling flames that didn't burn the three as the floor collapsed.
Pips squeaked and Olaf shouted as they fell. The floor wisped with beautiful flames that hissed like they were alive when the Draugar got too close.
Crow glowered and backhanded Keahi across the face. "Are you stupid?"
She winced as her head clacked back at the force of the hit. Blood oozed from her nose and her tongue flicked out to the cut on her lip.
"Find them!" Crow shouted, the Draugar hesitated before marching out of the room. "It's a moose, a child, and a pile of snow, how hard can they be to track?"
Keahi smirked and leveled her gaze back at Crow. "Harder than you think." Somehow Olaf had an uncanny ability for getting out of tricky situations. She was counting on that.
Crow rolled his eyes and pulled back to give Keahi a hefty punch to the gut.
"Ki!" Anna cried out as Keahi's vision wavered and she spit out a mouthful of blood.
Crow grabbed a handful of her hair, jerking her head back so she was looking at him. "When I rule Arendelle, you'll see how powerful I am. You'll regret it, Ki."
Keahi swallowed past the metallic tang of blood gushing in her mouth. She smiled, the blood staining her teeth. "You're weak and afraid, that's all you've ever been." She watched as his nose wrinkled in disgust. "You're just like dad."
That pushed him over the edge and he hit her so hard, her ears rang and her vision blurred.
She smirked through the pain, slumping to the ground. Crow had a one-track mind if she could keep him angry at her.
The rest were safe.
