Chapter 5
It was early evening and Aaron had been spending half of his time with me and the other half answering phone calls from wolves around the pack, trying to tend to being the Alpha. I didn't mind, I knew he was important and my scent must have been noticed which of course would lead someone to become nervous. He kept telling them not to worry about it and would hang up, becoming slightly more agitated with each call.
He had just come back to me on the couch, sat down and lounged his arm around my shoulder when his phone rang again. He growled sharply and snapped it open. "What?"
I watched him, amused by his annoyance. It was sort of cute how his gray eyes became slightly darker with it and cooled when he looked back at me. His dirty blonde hair was messy from running his hands through it.
He stood up, and his face fell soft. "I completely forgot all about that. Today has been a whirlwind for me. Can we reschedule for next week? I'm sure the twins will still be in town."
I frowned. Was he cancelling something for me?
"Yes, I'll have a house ready for them to stay in, just have them call me tomorrow about it. I have to go now. I'll make it up to you." He turned away from me and strode to the wall just before the kitchen where a calendar hung pinned. He took a pen from his pocket and scribbled something on it.
I couldn't help but chuckle at the calendar. It was such a casual thing to have in the big mansion where Aaron lived. I wondered what he wrote on it and laughed more at the thought of it saying things like 'howl at the moon' and 'go for a run as a wolf'.
Aaron said goodbye to whoever he was talking to and returned to sit by me. He sighed and rested his head in my neck, inhaling.
"What was that?" I asked curiously, enjoying his touch but wanting him to look at me.
"My dad," He said. "My brother and sister just happen to be in town and we were supposed to have a family dinner tonight."
"And you canceled?"
He looked up at me and smiled tiredly. "Well, yeah, I want to spend time with you. I just found you."
He shifted so he could wrap his arms around me and pull me to his chest. He was strong and I loved that. He leaned back so I was laying on top of him.
"You're my mate, Tambrey, I don't think I'm ever going to get enough time with you."
I blushed. "Me either."
I was about to continue and probably make a fool of myself when Aaron sat up again and set me back on the couch. "Jordan's back."
There was a click at the door, the sound of it unlocking, and then Jordan, with his shaggy bleach blonde hair, strode in, smiling. My bag was hung over his shoulder. "You know, Luna," He chuckled, handing it to me. "I think you owe me for getting your stuff."
"Why's that?" I asked, setting it to the side, the title still catching me off guard.
"Because you have very girly things. I got called out by more guys than necessary carrying that back here."
Aaron laughed. "I'm sure if you told them it was their Lunas belongings they'd shut up. Be jealous even."
"I didn't know you were telling people already." Jordan replied.
"Soon." Was as my mate said.
Jordan was handsome, I would give him that, but it was more of an adorable charm. He had the vibe of a beach boy, a sort of surfer appearance. His hair was the most blonde I had ever seen and brushed his eyebrows and ears, just slightly longer than Aarons. His eyes were bright blue and skin just slightly tan but not by much. He looked young for a Beta.
