Hey yall, sorry that this upload took a while but ive been dealing with finals and the stress that comes with that. School for me ends in just 2 days and that hopefully means quicker updates and maybe even me starting a vlog.
Chapter 6
As soon as I had run out the door, I sprinted back inside on my toes to get some shoes and slip on one of Aarons shirts so my scent would be covered in his.
I half scolded myself and half found it amusing that I had been so stupid and rushed to run out without shoes.
After I was ready, which had only taken a couple more seconds, I ran again, going towards some far off lights that could belong to a city that I spotted behind the house. The further I ran, the more I knew I was going in the right direction. The smell hit me hard and I appreciated its guidance.
It took longer than I expected to make it to the edge in my human form but I was glad once I got there.
I stepped around the trees and studied the buildings ahead. They weren't very big, just casual shops and right behind that, the taller hotel that I knew was the one I had stayed in. It was closer than I thought. I realized that it could be because the pack wanted to keep track of who was staying the night in their territory.
"Please," I pleaded to the man behind the desk in the lobby. "I just have to get something really quickly. I'll be in and out, I promise."
He had a heavy accent and gelled curly hair which he pushed back from annoyance. "I'm sorry ma'am. I can't let you in there. If you leave your phone number, I can notify you if it has been turned in."
I left my phone at home and I had no idea what Aarons phone number was!
I gripped the edge of the desk and groaned. "You don't understand, I need that picture. It's important."
"No, you don't understand." His accent got heavier with anger. "There are people sleeping in that room and you just can't go in. Now I'm going to ask you to leave before I call someone to escort you out."
I squinted at the man. "Fine." Exasperated, I spun from him and walked quickly out of the hotel to find my own way in.
I don't care what anyone said, I was going to get my sister back from that room.
I jogged around to the back of the hotel, knowing there had to be an emergency door. The only thing I found was a rusted door with a tiny dirty window. It was locked. I peeked through the window, finding myself looking at a dimly lit staircase. I grabbed the handle again, jiggling it fiercely. It had a lever that could be pushed to open but since it was locked, it did me no good. I noticed it was slightly loose and before I even considered that it would be breaking in, I yanked at it, cracking the whole thing off.
I paused, staring at the handle in my hands and then hastily set it in a bush.
I went back to the door, prying it open by the edges with my fingernails and then rushing up the stairs.
By this time, I was sure Aaron had noticed I was gone. Hopefully he thought to stay at home and wait for me to come back but I knew better.
I made it to the room I had stayed in that morning and began knocking. It only took a minute for an angry woman to stomp to the door and whip it open.
"This hotel will be getting a rotten review online." She snapped, looking me up and down. "You don't look like room service."
I remembered that I was wearing an oversized t-shirt, tennis shoes and my hair probably looked like a birds nest. I instinctively brought my fingers to the strands hanging by my face and combed through them.
