I sat inside the front room of Lusia's house. sitting there listening to what may be going on outside. I heard screams and cries. people begging for what, I do not know. I decided that I ought to stay put. I had hidden behind a small sofa in the back of the room. I listened for what seemed like hours, waiting. till I heard steps and the opening of the front door. I held my breath and stayed still. "Emma!" I heard. I popped up and turned around.

"Luisa!" I whispered back, stepping back from behind the coach. "what's happening?" she looked at me with tear-filled eyes. "I'm sorry. I so so sorry." she sobbed out. I took a few steps forward. "Luisa? what do you mean?" I mumbled. she grabbed my shoulders.

"They found out about you. the ladies of the castle. I should have done better I could have kept you inside. I could have-"

"Luisa!" I shook her, grabbing her attention. "what do these ladies want with me?" I said. y voice quivering. she looked at me with such loss and terror. "they-, they want to take you away." she said whipping her tears away. "I'm sorry I shouldn't have broken down like that. if we do not hurry they'll become angry. and most worse things could happen to you!" she grabbed my hand and pulled me out the door.

"Wait Luisa!" I shouted.

"No time young one. I'm sorry," she said, keeping her head forward.

Luisa had pulled me all through the village. I noticed people were missing from the streets, doors we locked tight, curtains shut. we came upon the square I had met the duke at. I fell as Luisa let go of me. Stopping abruptly. "I have brought her my Lord." I heard Luisa's voice say. I looked up seeing many things around me. I saw a few men being dragged off by what appeared to be a man in a trench coat, and old hat. Two cloaked figures watched from the side. one hunched over and coughing. the other sitting elegantly and appeared to have a doll o her lap. I then look straight ahead of me, meeting the hem of a white dress. I looked up, and up, and up. till I met the eyes of a very pale woman. she simple smirked down at me. I felt arms left me up. I looked behind me to the duke standing me up. I straightened myself up and looked back at the tall woman. she steps forward. her steps were wide. and was right in front of me in mere moments. she grabbed me by the chin. bedding down, turn my head back and forth. She let out a hum of satisfaction. "Yes she will do wonderfully." she stood back up to her full height. which was quite intimidating.

"I'm glad you are pleased my lord." Luisa bowed. The women waved her off.

"Now darling, what is your name, little one." he said turning back to me.

"E-E-Emma miss-?" I said unsure.

"Lady. Lady Dimitrescu. is what you shall call me. now let s go." she said starting to walk away. I quickly jogged after her. it was hard to keep up with her. her height still surprising me. " My lady, why is it you need me?" I asked quietly.

"Speak louder little one, with confidence. Any woman should," she said as she kept walking. "But what I need is a maid. a position you shall fill. MY personal maid." she said with a strong voice. her voice made me shiver. "Of course, my Lady. what does the job incline?"

she chuckled. "many things my dear, dressing cleaning, delivering my meals, getting guests. And don't speak unless spoken to, or needed to. ill let this slide since your know. but at the castle you need to practice this," she looking back at me.

I looked away whispering, "Yes my Lady."

"Louder young one, now. let me show you your new home." She said lifting her hand up, I looked up. Seeing a gothic medieval castle. my jaw dropped. this must not be what the priestess meant by finding a new home.
