The sight of blood never really bothered me. Not at all. It was a normal thing. But seeing it in such a large amount, on such a large scale. It disturbed me. Well, that would be an understatement. I already knew about this family's, taste for blood. There abilities. Their power.

I wasn't told directly they were vamps, but with enough context clues. I think it was rather obvious. But no less terrifying.

I stood up and quickly walked out. I searched for any way to clean myself. the only thing

In this room was a vanity. I quickly glanced at myself, I didn't have too much on me. Only some on my apron and face. So In a thought of urgency, I rubbed my face on the apron. The part with no blood on it already. Looking back up at the mirror I saw no blood. I was going to let out a sigh of relief but then I heard talking. Footsteps, heavy ones. I quickly ran back into the bathroom and shut off the faucet. It Had filled up about 6 inches before the lip. I looked around wondering, what now? But then I then spotted a cabinet along the right wall. Towels atop it. I grabbed a few and draped them over my arm. And at that moment the door opened.

I quickly turned around, seeing Marlene holding the door open. Her head bowed, knees bent in a slight curtsy. And as Lady walked in, I realized I should be doing the same. I gave an awkward bow of my head. And I put my left foot behind my right and slowly bent my knees. After a second I stood and looked up.

Her gaze was on me. But it wasn't cold. She had a satisfied smirk on her face. Then she turned to turn to my superior.

"She seems to be coming along well. You clearly have done well as a teacher." she spoke walking over to the cabinet. Soon speaking to me. "I assume she spoke to you last night? Preparing you for your duties?"

I darned not look away from my lady. "Of course, she's been very kind. A great teacher indeed my lady." I didn't want to be on her bad side. Marlene had my life in her hands now. I better not lead her to drop it.

Lady D gave me a slight smile. "Wonderful, now would you two grab my soaps and such from the cabinet whilst I slip into the bath?" she said waving towards the cabinet and then walking towards the "blood bath." (I thought that was pretty clever.) both of us let out an of course and rushed to do her bidding. I knelt down beside Marlene and opened the door. "Which ones do we grab?" I muttered to her. She sighed and grabbed a few bottles and hand them to me. "These." She spoke shortly. I stood with those ones whilst she grabbed more. I looked down at the bottles to see what they were. One was a bottle of red perfume (what other color would it be.), and one was a black bottle with ornate silver flowers. Which I wasn't sure of its contents. And the third was A clear glass jar-like bottle of white cream. A worn label on the front was written in french.

I quickly realized I wasn't doing my task. I quickly turn towards the bath. Ready to do as I was soon to be told. Lucky for me, lady d was already in the bath. Though I will admit. Her chest didn't leave much to the imagination. I walked over to the side of the bath. And sat down own the cold stone. I set the bottles down and spoke, "Is there something I should do first or should I leave Marlene to that." I said, lining the bottles in a row.

"Did she not tell you my bath routine?" She leaned her head back, looking towards me.

Shit. I had to come up with something fast, or Marlene would skin me. "No my lady. It was one of the few things we didn't cover. It was late last night when she came in. And she wanted me to get enough sleep for my first day so..." I looked down at the bottles in front of me. My hands folding on my lap.

"I see, well. I suppose I can't blame either of you for that then. Though Marlenes," Marlene looked up from her cabinet searching, "Do teach her the rest of her duties. Maybe even go over the ones you already told her. I want her performing at top efficiency by the end of the day. Shes your responsibility, and her failures will be yours. Now why don't you go manage the girls in the kitchen. Our breakfast staff has been, lacking in members as of late." Marlene let out the classic of course. She ran over and put down a few bottles and walked out.

I watched as she left, not knowing if I should feel relieved or frighted. Being free of Marlenes presence meant I didn't have to keep up much of a charade. But being left with her, alone, perhaps an even worse fate.
