Ch13: Unusual.

* Next Day 12:00pm*

I was at work with Haru and a couple other co workers today. We were planning a garden party for the president of Japan and his associates. From what I heard this event happens once a year, and is one of the company's top priorities, a big event held for only 300 guests exactly.

Awhile later I went to a nearby cafe for lunch.
Haru decided to stay back and work on designs. While I was in the line I recognized a face.

" Oh Hey Laila!" A woman said to me as she caught me looking at her.

And oddly, that woman was Akari.
" Hi, good afternoon."

She decided we sit with together for lunch.

" So, how are things with Yamato going? He told me all about you." She asked so suddenly.

" He did? Well things are great, I'm glad we're together." I answer.

" Any ideas for the future?" She continued asking questions.

" I'm more focused on my job at the moment, I don't really know what the future holds for Yamato and I."

" I see.." Akari replied a little blunt but smiled after. " You know, when Yamato and I were  younger he promised he would marry me. His mother gave me a ring to show that I would be his wife one day. But that didn't happen.."

" Oh..well sorry. He never tells me any of this stuff." I told her. We talked a little more about Yamato and then set off separate ways.
To be honest, that conversation ticked me off a bit.

* 10:00pm*

I was still working and wasn't keeping track of time. Soon Haru walked into the office.

" Oh hey, you're still here?"

" Huh?" I then looked at the clock and realized it was ten.

" How'd you know I was still here?" I asked.

" Well I was leaving and I saw your office lights on." Haru replied. He walked towards me and leaned in to look at my flower designs. " Wow, you drew all these?!"

" Yup!"

I started to pack my stuff then suddenly Haru tripped on one of the table legs.

" U-Uh watch out Haru!!" I called out as he toppled over me. Suddenly his body was hovered over mine! Th-this is a really odd position..

He looked at me with his dark dark eyes, and pecked my lips silently.

" Y-You just kissed me.." I whispered as he was still on me.

" I um...couldn't help myself, sorry. Won't happen again!" He blushed and quickly got off me.

After that awkward moment we both walked out as if nothing happened. We were outside the building, and it was pitch black outside.

" Hey it's dark out, need a ride?" Haru questioned me. I nodded, as I walked to his car I hear my name being shouted from a distance.

" Laila!!" Someone yelled.

I turned back and squinted my eyes to see who it was yelling my name in such darkness. As the person came closer I realized it was Yamato.

" Hey, sorry I'm late. I'll be walking her home tonight, thank you." Yamato said to Haru.
Yamato gave him a stern look and gripped my hand tightly.

" G-Goodnight Haru." I told him as I turned away.

" Goodnight Laila." He replied, but his voice was so soft I could barely hear him.

Yamato and I walked back home as silence stood between us

Once we got back to the apartment Yamato sat me on the couch. " Who is that man? And where were you going with him?"

" He's my partner in design, Haru. I ended up staying too late at work and he offered to give me a ride since you didn't show up. It was too dark to walk back home alone. " I explain as his face remains serious.

" Just be more careful, you attract too many men. But you're mine." He said as he got on top of me on the couch.

Yamato was on top of me the way Haru was before. And it felt somewhat weird now.

" Laila.." Yamato would whisper, as his warm breath fogged up my ear I couldn't help but get the chills.

" I uh, I'm pretty tired." I replied, ruining the moment.

" Well sorry but I'm going to make you even
more tired.." Yamato told me as he quickly slipped my shirt and pants off.

I tried to say and do something to defend myself but Yamato overpowered me. For some reason I didn't feel right making love to Yamato tonight. It was a really weird and unusual day.

Meeting Akari at the cafe, suddenly kissing Haru, and now. Today's events really were odd.
