Ova Ch: Highschool Laila Pt1

{ Monday/7:30am }

" Laila! I told you to get up 20 minutes ago! If you don't get up now you'll be late! This is your last warning." My mother barged into my room and continued to wake me.

" Okay okay, I'm up."

Highschool, it's finally my last year and I'll be able to settle down soon enough. I go to a public high school in my city of Nagoya, Japan.
Truth is, in Japan you can choose to take your last year of secondary school. However the third year of high school is allotted for students to prepare for college exams known as "juken". I, personally want to make my parents proud and become a teacher.

Though, if I keep waking up late I won't be able to take that path, haha.

" Laila you better be up and dressed when I get into your room-"

My mother suddenly walked in on me as I slipped on my uniform. " Um..I'm almost ready? "

" Honestly, what am I going to do with you. Come on move faster, your bento is on the table don't forget it. " My mother face palmed and walked out the room. [ A/N: A " Bento " is a single portion home-packed meal you takeout to eat or especially to school. It's usually in a box-like container. ]

I smile to myself and move quicker.

After getting dressed and fixing my hair I rush downstairs and grab the bento my mother made for me.

" Bye mother! See you later!"

The weather was wonderful today. I began to walk to school and stare at all the summer like objects people had outside their homes.

Pools, sprinklers, all these fun things kids play with now a days.

" Good morning Laila! Heading to school I see!"

I look to my left and my neighbor gladly greets me from afar.

" Yes I am! And good morning!" I greet back.

I hope today goes great, I kind of feel like something amazing will happen.

" BOO!"

" AGH!" I'm snapped out of my thoughts when someone scares me from behind. " Oh, Kaori! You startled me! I almost had a heart attack!"

" Hehe! Good morning!" She held up a peace sign and smiled directly at me.

Kaori's been my best friend since the beginning of middle school. We always walk to school together and back.

" Hey, do you think Lexis likes anyone?" I suddenly asked.

" Lexis Adachi? I've heard rumors that he's dating a college girl! I mean, I doubt we have a chance with him..he's really cute." Kaori replied and look towards the ground.

" You like him?"

" Well yeah, every girl does. Do you?" She asked back.

" Um, remember when he helped me study for the pre college exam like two weeks ago? I kind of grew a little feelings for him. But I mean I'm not looking to date him! I just like him that's all!!" I could feel my face flush pink as I explained my feelings.

" Aw..."

We both sigh and laugh a little afterwards.

{ School/8:05am }

" We made it with five minutes to spare! Come on let's head to class quickly!" I told Kaori and we raced to our 1B class.
