A Perfect World

Part 2

Tonya and I hit the dance floor and danced most of the evening retreating ever so often to the bar to get refreshed with bottled water. A techno beat come over the place and Tonya began to move to the beat, pulling me to the floor. Jimmy and Catherine joined us and Jimmy had a blast dancing with us one by one. He paid more attention to Catherine than Tonya or I and she was eating it up. Close to the end of the song Jimmy grabbed my hand and twirled me around him. He twisted me under his arm and began to spin me in time with the beat making me dizzy.
"I'm getting dizzy stop" I giggled
Just as the song ended still spinning he let go of my hand and I spun across the dance floor.
"Whoa!!" I shrieked
I felt myself bump hard in to someone. Whoever I ran into grabbed my arms to prevent me from falling. I was laughing and my head was spinning, I looked over to Jimmy and Catherine dancing and laughing at me. I turned to see who I almost knocked over. That's when I realized it was Robert standing right before me smiling at me.
"You better slow down there." a sweet sexy smile across his face.
"Sorry about that, he had me going there." I said trying to catch my breath and stepping back quickly my nerves kicking in.
"That's ok you looked like you were having fun, Jimmy has that effect on people especially beautiful women" He said looking up at Jimmy and giving a mischievous smile. "Anyway are you ok?" he asked
"Yeah?"
"So what's you name sweetie"
"Uh... Amy"
Well nice to meet you Amy, I'm..." he began
"Robert, I know" I finished for him
"Oh so you have heard of me" He laughed
"Yeah, a little bit" I said trying to be funny and calm my tension
"Nice to meet you, are you a friend of Jimmy's?"
"Well not really he knows Catherine better and I have only talked to him a few times online through Facebook"
"Oh yeah he likes that Facebook"
"Um... Well again sorry for about almost knocking you down, and thanks for catching me." I said
"Well your welcome, anytime." He said with a cute smile. I moved over to the group that Jimmy, Catherine and Tonya had formed. Robert soon followed
My head was beginning to return to normal. Only for my stomach to begin flip flopping as he moved into the little circle we had formed into just off the dance floor. He was standing next to me and every once in awhile he would brush up against me. I would move a bit to my left each time and he seemed to move with me. I bumped in to Tonya, and she looked at me.
"What are you doing?" she said looking at me and moving over as I was practically on top of her.
"Sorry, but he keeps bushing up against me; and every time I move he follows."
"Why is that a problem?" she said raising her eyebrows and smiling big.
"It's not but..." I began
"Excuse me dear, but would you like to dance?" I heard in my right ear. I slowly turned around to see Robert leaning in to me; we were almost nose to nose he was so close.
"Me?" I asked almost in a barely audible voice and backing up a bit.
"You're the one I'm talking to." He said flashing a smile at me. I looked back at Tonya and mouthed "OH MY GOD" She nodded her head towards him indicating to go for it. I turned back around and gave him a small smile as he stood waiting for my answer.
"Sure." I said. He took my hand and pulled me lightly towards the dance floor. I looked back and to see Catherine standing there next to Jimmy not hearing anything he was saying to her. Her mouth was hanging open her eye wide in disbelief, I shrugged my shoulders and smiled.
A slow song began to play as we reached the middle of the dance floor filled with people "Apologize" by Timberland. He twirled me around then pulled me in close to him. He held on to my right hand and pulled it to his chest and curled his other arm around my waist. I could feel my heart beating against his chest. I felt like my stomach was turned inside out, I was nervous and thrilled all at the same time it was the greatest sensation I have ever felt. I was sure he could feel my heart pounding so I attempted to pull back a bit. He looked at me with a quizzical look on his face.
"What's the matter, I don't bite you know." He said pulling me back to him.
"I know, I'm just a bit caught off guard."
"Really and why is that?
"Well it's not every day a good looking famous guy asks me to dance"
"Eh! I'm nothing special." He laughed a bit
"Your may think so" I mumbled. Thinking he did not hear me.
"Oh, you do?"
I looked up at him surprise filled my eyes; he had heard me even over the music. I blushed a bit and turned my head and looked over to where Catherine and Tonya were. They were lost in conversation with Jimmy and another young gentleman. We spent the rest of the dance in silence, I drank in his scent, and it was intoxicating. I almost let my guard down and laid my head on his shoulder. The song ended and he broke away from me the same way he brought us together. Twirling me under his arm, he thanked me for the dance and kissed my hand. He headed off across the room to talk to some people. I stood there and stared over at him, he has just given me the thrill of my life. I walked back to where we were sitting and joined Catherine and Tonya.
"Wow look at you all dreamy eyed" Tonya said
"Huh?" I said shaking my dream like state.
"You all dreamy and ahhhh" she said mocking me. I just rolled my eyes and smiled
A few moments later the music changed to AC/DC the theme band of the movie, and Robert and Jon Favreau, took the stage. Along with them were Gwyneth Paltrow, and Don Cheadle. They wanted to thank everyone who worked so hard on the film and that it was great working with everyone again. Jon began to talk and I had no clue what he said because all I could do was concentrate on Robert. He glanced a few times at me; he could clearly see I was fixed on him because I never looked away when he would lock eyes with me. As modest as he as he was he was eating up the admiration I was giving him. After they were done speaking he walked around talking to people and shaking hands.
