A Perfect World

Part 4

"Ignore it!" he groaned between pants. I knew it was Catherine or Tonya calling, they did realize I was gone! The phones ring stopped and I knew it went to voicemail. A moment later I heard the distinctive chime indicating I had a message. I put it quickly out of my mind and focused on him again.
I watched him close his eyes and stiffen a bit, I knew he was close. I pulled him to me wrapped my legs around him and met his every plunge with an upward thrust. I felt my heat rise again, his body went rigged and we both cried out a moan of pure pleasure as his body shook. He steadied himself for a moment on his arms and then allowed himself to slowly lower on top of me. His breathing was heavy and he felt clammy from our lovemaking. I ran my fingers through his hair and could smell the woodsy smell of his shampoo. He raised his head and kissed me so gentle but with mountains of heat behind it. I cradled his face in my hands and lightly kissed him over and over. He rested his head in the nape of my neck, his warm breath caressing my skin.
"That... was amazing." I said trying to regain composer.
"You weren't too bad yourself sweetheart" he breathlessly whispered in to the nape of my neck.
After a moment he raised his head and looked at me with a look of pure satisfaction. He kissed my nose then my cheek, before he slid beside me tucking me in his arm nook. We lay there in silence listening to each other breath; I could feel his heart pounding it was almost in rhythm with mine. Thoughts swirled through my head. "Oh my! I never dreamed my trip to New York City for a movie premiere would have been so eventful and full of surprises!" I thought. Then I smiled as I reflected on our passion and ecstasy fill moments. I looked over to the clock on the bed side table, it was almost 3am we had been gone for 3 ½ hours!! I heard my phone beep again reminding me I had a message. I sat up and slid off the bed and reached for my purse. I searched for my phone and seen I had 3 missed calls. Shit! They must have also called when we were on the observation deck at Rockefeller. I dialed my voice mail and listened to my messages. I had three messages, the first was from Tonya.
"Amy! Where the hell are you! We have looked everywhere for you. They guy at the door said he thought he seen you leave with Robert! Call me let me know your ok."
I laughed quietly, as the next message played. Of course I was ok, I was better than Ok.
"AMY! It's Catherine, where are you. Tonya and I are a bit worried; no one seems to know where you went. Are you with Robert? Call us!!"
The last message was from Tonya again
"Ok, What the Hell is going on why will you not call us back? Jimmy said you left with Robert. Where are you two at? (sigh) CALL ME BACK!"
I giggled and shut my phone.
"What?" He said sitting up beside me.
"I think we better get back to the party, we have been discovered missing in action and my friends are freaking out." I said resting my chin on my shoulder smiling at him.
"Do they know you're with me?"
'I think so."
"Then there is no problem, they would be fine once we get back and see you're ok. We better freshen before we go, unless..." He looked at me and raised his eyebrows
"What." I chuckled
"Round two?"
I chuckled "Not that I would love to stay, but we better go" I leaned over and kissed him gently with an elongated peck.
His firm and toned ass moved in and out of the filtered light from the other room. For a moment I reconsidered my choice. I shook off the thought and joined him in the bathroom. After we freshened up and dressed and attempted to put ourselves together as best we could to conceal what had taken place moments ago. I called Catherine before we left the room and told her I was fine, that I just took a drive with Robert so we could just chat without all the loud music and people interrupting. She sounded unconvinced. So I told her we were on our way back to the restaurant.
"See I told you they would notice." I said with a sly smile knowing they would know as soon as they seen me it was not just any ride I took.
With a wink and a sly smile he said "Don't worry about it honey, It's all good"
We stood very close to one another in the elevator on our way back down to the lobby of the Waldorf.
"Hey can I see your phone?" He asked
"Sure" I said handing it to him. He flipped it open and began to push buttons on it. He held it up to his ear then suddenly shut it. He then reopened it and began again pushing buttons.
"What are you doing?" I asked
"I am putting my number in here for you, and I called my phone that way I have yours" He said closing the phone and handing it back to me. He leaned over and kissed me again. Pulling me to face him and clutching the material of my dress. We parted quickly when the elevator stopped at another floor. An older couple entered and smiled. I look up at Robert and smiled with a slight blush and quietly snickered.
As we headed back to the after party I sat snug up against Robert my head resting on his shoulder. He rested his hand on my knee rubbing it a bit. I began to rack my brain to come up with a something to tell the girls to account for our lengthy absents. Robert leaned his head on top of mine.
"Why are you so quite?" he asked
"Just thinking."
"About?"
"You, me, tonight."
"Oh anything in particular?" he said I heard a smile in his voice
"Yeah... I was thinking how good the food was at the party." I said snickering
"Really? The food huh?" he ran his hand up my leg and I pushed it back down
"Behave!" I said grabbing his hand holding it to my chest. He turned my face towards him and kissed me so deep I did not even realize we had arrived back at the party.
"Here we are sir." the driver announced "Sir?"
"Huh?" Robert said being pulled from our blissfulness
"We're here." The driver repeated.
"Yeah" He said as he sat up straight and opened the door to the car. I stepped out of the car and brushed my dress smooth and picked at my hair. We walked hand in hand as we headed inside. We arrived back in the room where the party was still in full swing. Robert and I parted ways for a moment. I quickly found Catherine sitting at a table with Jimmy.
"Hey there!" I said as I sat down beside Catherine.
"Hey yourself Houdini "Catherine said turning towards me
"Excused me ladies" Jimmy said getting up from the table and kissing Catherine on the cheek 'I'll be right back"
"Ohhhh, Catherine what just happened there?" I asked leaning back in my chair
"Don't change the subject, where have you been" Catherine
"Nowhere in Particular we drove around a bit, we did go to Rockefeller center an up to the observation deck, and ahhh let me tell you the view...."
"Amy!" Catherine cut me off "You were not up on a roof top for 3 hours" she said giving me a look of suspicion. About that time Tonya returned to the table
"Oh My God you had sex!" She exclaimed. I gave her a startled look
"What?! No I did not." I lied
"Yes you did I can see it on you."
"Pfffff" I scoffed
"Amy I have known you for over 10 years and I know that look"
"What Look?"
"The I just had sex glow."
Catherine sat between us volleying from me to her. Shock and intrigue on her face.
"Seriously!" Catherine said as she grabbed my are "O-M-G, Do tell" she said as she bounced in her seat
"Look nothing happened, we just talked and went to the observation deck" I said trying to hide a smile as my mind flashed back on the recent events of the evening
"Yeah and pigs fly" Tonya scoffed and gave me the "I know your tell me later" look with a sly smile.
Jimmy came back to the table and had a seat. He looked at me and smiled.
"Have Fun." his smile told me he knew something. I wondered if Robert told him, I never took Robert as being the kiss and tell type. A moment later Robert walked up to the table and sat next to Jimmy. He told me that Jimmy and he were going to head out and that it was nice to meet us all. He gave me a quick wink, I hoped the girls had not seen it. Jimmy offered to have a car take us back to our hotel, and we happily accepted. As we waited for the car Jimmy, Robert, Catherine, Tonya and I stood outside and talked. Robert stood next to me, and grazed my hand. I looked at him and smiled, I then leaned in to him and whispered
"Did you tell Jimmy about... us?" I asked
"No, Why?"
"Well he seems to know, I can't be sure he does but it was just a look he gave me."
"We did disappear for 3 ½ hours." He said with a wink. I gave him a sideway smile. I wanted to kiss him good-bye, but dared not to let our little secret out. Jimmy and Robert put us in the car and said their good-byes. Before Robert closed the door he leaned in and whispered in to my ear.
"Call me...I'm in the city for another two days, and thanks sweetheart for an amazing night." he winked and closed the door.
Tonya and Catherine looked at me and in unison said
"Ok Spill It!"
"WHAT!?"
"What did he just say to you?"
"Nothing, He said to call him" I blushed a bit
"It's obvious you had a little some'n some'n" Tonya said
"No, Well ok he did kiss me once" I lied as I tried not to look them in the eye.
"Uh-huh" Catherine said
"Well think what you like, I'm a lady and I would never; and even if I did, I don't kiss and tell" I said sticking my nose in the air then laughing.
"Yeah she slept with him" Tonya said laughing.
After we got back to our hotel we were exhausted mostly me. I had an eventful evening burn in to my memory. My phone beeped with a text message it was from Robert telling me good night and he hope he would hear from me tomorrow.
The next morning my cell phone rang bright and early. I hastily slapped around the bedside table without raising my head or opening my eyes looking for my phone. When I found it, I flipped it open and spoke a sleepy hello.
"Did I wake you" I heard the voice on the other end say, I was not really sure I recognize it.
"Um...No, no I was awake just laying here." I lied
"Good would you wanna get some breakfast?" the mystery voice said
"Uh yeah...sure...Who is this? I asked still trying to place the voice in my groggy state.
"Well I'm surprised after last night you would not remember me." They said
"Oh God, Robert! Hey I'm sorry I did not recognize your voice." I said now embrassed
"That ok, so you up for some nosh"
"Yeah give about 20 minutes to put myself together." I said
"Great, I'll wait for you downstairs"
I jumped out of bed accidently waking Tonya. I tore through my suit case that was packed and ready for our departure later on that day.
"What are you doing?" Tonya asked sitting up and rubbing her eyes.
"I got to get a shower and be ready in 20 minutes." I said
"Why?" she asked
"Robert will be here he wants to have breakfast!"I said still tearing through my suitcase "SHIT!" I exclaimed
"What?"
"I can't find my blue blouse that I like so much" I replied to Tonya
"It' over there in my bag I put it in there after you forgot to pack it in your bag." Tonya said
"Oh thank god." I sighed
By this time Catherine was woken by all the commotion and sat and laughed at me run like a chicken with its head cut off
I took a shower in a record time, blow dried my hair, and put my make up on all in 15 minutes.
"Well how do I look?" I asked
"You look fine" Catherine said
"You sure?" I asked not sure I was happy with my choice of clothing
"Yeah, besides you may not have it on for very long" Catherine said then rolled on the bed laughing a deep belly laugh.
"Ha, ha...It's just breakfast." I said blushing at a flashback
"Yeah and it was just a drive too." Tonya chimed in
"You guys, that was just...well...It' just happened... it's not.... it wasn't planned. Come on what kind of girl do you think I am. It is just breakfast, and besides at least I know he interested he did call me"
"Yeah for a booty call" Tonya said trying to hold in her giggle
"Stop it" I said
"Ok chill we are just razzing you. Go have a good time" Catherine said standing up and hugging me
I left and headed down stairs, my heart was in my stomach and my legs were shaking. The elevator reached the ground floor and I walked out in to the buzzing lobby. I looked around and did not see Robert anywhere. I walked towards the entrance doors and saw the black car that took us back to the hotel from the night before. I smiled and walked out, just as I reached the door of the car it opened.
"Well hello beautiful" Robert said a big smile on his face.
"Hi." I said smiling back
I stepped in closing the door, He scooted up close to me and leaned in to me. I looked at him with a look on my face that seemed to say "what?"
"Oh I see your the love'em and leave'em type huh?" He said a sly smile creeping across his face. I smiled and gently kissed him.
"What that's it?" he asked teasing me.
He grab me by the back of my neck and pull me in to a heated deep kiss, my body went numb and I fell in to him.
"Now that's a good morning kiss" he said
"Um hum" was all I could utter at that moment trying to gather myself from the body numbing kiss.
We ate at a small café in the east village, it was quite and serene. We ate and talked about noting really just enjoyed each other's company. We never spoke of the night before even though I know it was on both our minds.
"So what time does you flight leave?" he asked as we walked back to the car.
"12:30pm." I replied
"Oh so you have to be leaving soon."
"Yeah unfortunately." I sighed
"Well maybe you could stay one more day" he said
"Oh I wish I could but I have to return to work I took my only two vacation days I had left to come here." I said looking in to his eyes wishing I could stay.
"Well I understand" he said patting my hand. We got back in to the car and headed for my hotel.
"Well maybe I can come see you in Ohio." He said
"Really? You would do that with your busy schedule?" I asked with a bit of surprise in my voice.
"Yeah why you think I don't want to see you again?" he asked seemingly a bit put off that I assumed he would throw me aside like a cheap suit
"Well yeah...well I don't know...It's just with you schedule and after last night and all..." I trailed off
"Look what happened last night was amazing. I did not mean to make it seem like it was a one night thing and I was using you."
"Oh god no! It's not that but well... It's just... that I'm me and you are you, and well in a perfect world we could be together." I said feeling horrible that I made him think he was using me."
"Well, maybe this is a perfect world. I want to see you more get to know you more. I like you, you seem like a great person. We will see where it goes from there." He said reassuring me.
"Well I guess that sounds ok to me." I said smiling at him
"We reached the hotel and he kissed me good-bye before I exited the car.
"Hey, call me when you land back home ok, and we will see what we can work out for me to come see you." He said leaning over to look at me out the door.
"Ok I will"
The girls and I headed to the airport shortly after I got back. The flight home was a bitter sweet one, I wished with everything in my soul I could have stayed in New York with him. He was there for one more day till he had to return to LA. The flight landed in Cleveland on time and Tonya and I bid Catherine farewell as she changed planes to return to Montana. As promised I called Roberts phone and got his voice mail and left a message telling him I landed safe and was on my way home.
Over the next few weeks I had not heard much from him, except a few e-mails and two phone calls I was beginning to think he had had a change of heart about me
It was Friday at work and the clock seemed to go backwards instead of forward. I could not wait to get out of there I was tired and feeling a bit low. I had not heard anything from Robert in over a week. I was sure that all I would have of him was our two days in New York. Not that I was complaining but I had wished that we could have gotten to know one another more. I was sitting at my desk staring at my computer screensaver of tropical fish swimming daydreaming about New York when Trish my best friend and co-worker came in to my office. She was holding a huge flower arrangement with daisies, tiger lilies, and other wildflowers.
"This just came for you." She said
"What?" I asked surprised
"Who are they from?" she asked. With a inquiring look on her face.
"I don't know?" I lied I knew they were from Robert
"Well read the card." She said sitting the vase on the corner of my desk. There was an envelope that was bigger than a normal flower card. Inside was a letter that was decorated with photos of the same flowers that were in the bouquet. I opened the letter and a paper fell out in to my lap I picked it up and laid it on my desk. I began to read the letter...
"Hey beautiful,
Sorry I have not contacted you in a while but have been crazy busy here the past few weeks. I wanted to let you know I think about you every day. You enamored me in New York, and I find myself missing you. I know we had talk about getting together in three months or so but I am not sure I can wait that long to see you..."
I stopped short and thought oh my god this was something out of a movie. Boy meets girl, there is a long distance relationship or whatever. Then there are flowers with a card that says, I can't wait any longer to see you I miss you blah, blah. Then the girl looks up and the guy is standing there. I looked up but nope just Trish looking at me practically bouncing to hear what the letter said. I looked back down at the letter and continued to read.
"So since it is too crazy for me to get away from here to see you, you are coming to see me. There is an enclosed airline ticket itinerary for a paid roundtrip ticket to LA first class. Also so you will not have to worry about a ride to the airport I have arranged for a car to pick you up. I know this will reach you on Friday I hope around 2:30pm you time. You plane leaves at 8pm tonight, the car will be there at 5 to pick you up. So go home and pack and I will see you in a few hours."

I looked up at Trish and had tears in my eyes. I could not believe he had arranged all this for me.
"Who is it from?" She asked
"Robert." I said picking up the paper that fell out of the letter
"Robert who?" she asked
"Just a guy I met in New York" I said smiling to myself loving that I had my own little secret love affair with Robert, Hollywood's sexiest man alive.
"Wow you must have had one hell of good time in New York to have some guy send you flowers like this" Trish said
"Yeah and this." I said holding up the air line itinerary.
"Where is that to?" She asked
"Los Angeles" I replied as I stood up and grabbed my coat.
"Where are you going?"
"Home, my plane leaves in a few hours." I said walking out the door. I did not care if I lost my job at that moment. I would get one in California if I had to. I was going to see Robert and no one could stop me.
I hurried home and packed a bag with almost everything in my closet. At 5 on the dot a black luxury sedan pulled up outside my house. I took my bags to the front porch and the driver took them to the car for me. As I pulled my door shut and headed to the car. I could not help but wonder what would this trip hold.
