Chapter 1

Maya Hart looked at everything that was in front of her. She was the young girl who fell in love, but didn't know how love would end. She looked at all her friends who had found love. Riley and Lucas who finally figured out their love story. Farkle and Smackle who had managed to know where they stand. And Zay who found his own love. And then there was Maya.

Maya fell in love with college boy Joshua Matthews and although she didn't know what would happen with all of that, she was happy to wait until she knew what to do about it all. But now she was stuck with a situation bigger than she could ever have imagined.

"Maya! Come here!"

Skylar Rodney had started her sophomore year at the high school where the six teenagers always felt comfortable at. But suddenly it was also not the same. Riley and Lucas decided that they would do their own thing while the smart kids went with their club. And Zay, well he had decided to be with his girlfriend more. So Maya had decided that she would get to know the young girl that started at the high school, but didn't know how it would end.

"Hey, Skye. What's up?" Maya asked as she laid her things down.

"Not much. What's up with you?" Skylar asked as Maya looked at her.

"A lot to say the truth. I guess I don't really know what's going on," Maya said.

"Tell me then. What's wrong?"

"Nothing is really wrong. I'm serious. It's just an uncomfortable situation," Maya said.

"With a guy named Josh who is Riley's uncle? Yeah I spoke with Farkle," Skylar said.

"Farkle doesn't know half the situation. I love Josh and I know that he also likes me. We are playing this long game. Which means that we are waiting with our love story. But it also means that..."

"Hey, he's just playing you. You are beautiful, Maya. Don't let one guy keep you on a chokehold. Move forward. There are plenty of guys who will be more than lucky to have you in their lives," Skylar said.

"Yeah I know, but Josh isn't like that at all. He's just... He's just Josh," Maya said as she exhaled.

She looked at Skylar as she got a feeling that things would end badly for her.
