"There is no magic cure, no making it all go away forever. There are only small steps upward; an easier day, an unexpected laugh, a mirror that doesn't matter anymore.
I am thawing."
- Marion Lloyd

It was as if an invisible switched had been suddenly flipped on, and a bright light had been focused right on me.
It's the kind of attention most people craved around here, the kind that gave you outmust power over everyone and everything. And it all began with that wink.
"Hey Hazel, do you need help carrying your book"
I stopped in my tracks and cast a glance down to my empty hands and then back up to a slightly taller junior boy who held a hopeful look on his.
Is he blind?
"Uh- I'm not holding anything.." I trailed off and sent the boy one last questioning glance before stepping past him and into my Chemistry classroom.
All moring I've been having tons of random people walk up to me, asking if they could assist me in anyway, or hold my invisible books.
Kayla of course, ate up the sudden attention, and instead handed them her own stuff to carry. I blatantly told her how wrong she was being, but she wouldn't be Kayla if she actually cared. Aside from the obvious new attention we were getting - for no real reason - 'The Unobtainables' had all managed to get themselves rearranged into all my classes - thankfully I shared all - but this one - with Kayla.
"Hey can I sit here?" I look up from my seat at very back of the classroom and my eyes find yet another random stranger - this time a brunette girl.
She was fairly tall and was actually deserving of being called 'drop dead gorgeous'. Her short brown chestnut hair totally contrasted my long honey blonde one, and her green eyes welcomed my hazel ones, I sent her a smile to confirm that she could in fact join me.
We encaged in a short conversation, and I learned that her name was Evlyn and that she just moved here from the Caribbean.
Everyone around the room were not paying attention to us, but when the final bell wrang and the classroom's door flew open one last time, their eyes snapped up to meet the usual brooding scene.
In all their glory, the four boys - including the very one who has been ignoring me since the whole rumor mill started - I even heard one that I slept with all of them this past summer - stepped inside the crowded classroom.
The people at this school were all desperate fucks. I could not have slept with any of them because I spent my entire summer vacation at my family's home in Belize.
But did they ask me that? No! Of course the people here have to find the need to gossip about someone or something - and they all didn't have the balls to talk about Asher so that left the next perosn involved: me.
How could a simple wink start off such a terrible rumor tornado? I was not prepared for this. Hell, I haven't even uttered a word to the boy since middle school, when we both faught over having the same spiderman lunchbox. Yes, I was that type of person, spiderman was my thing and he wanted to steal my shine, that was not happening.
"Move," I hear a rough voice grunt out in front of us and find myself staring at the boy in question eyes, though he wasn't looking at me, he was looking at Evlyn - who could only stare up at the menacing boy in front her in confusion and maybe... fear?
Yeah same girl.
"Move that's my seat." Asher said once more and raised an eyebrow at Evlyn when she didn't immediately scramble to her feat - like he expected her to. He must not know that she's new here and probably hasn't been keyed in on how to treat the egotistical idiot in front of us.
