Who would ever think that so much went on in the soul of a young girl?

Friday, my favorite F word besides Fuck. The last day of the school week. The last day before and amazing two days off that I could spend on Netflix watching Gossip Girl and eating ice cream.
Don't judge me.
As my usual Friday self, I was really happy this morning. I managed to throw on some ripped blue jeans in my rush, and a red checkered blouse with my black cardigan because it was chilly outside.
I was so happy in fact I didn't even "play" fight with my little brother - Jules - he was always a pest but we usually got along just fine. Albeit there was always something up one of our sleeves - a possible trick to play on each other.
Nothing could ruin my high today.

I walked towards the cafeteria when Kayla caught up with me. Her red curls bouncing behind her. It was no secret that my best friend was a looker, infact almost half of the male student body had asked her out already, but Kayla always had her eye set on one of the 'Unobtainables'. Her fangirling was beyond me.
"Hey bitch, what are you so happy about? I noticed that smile from a mile away." She expressed sending me a look of curiosity. Oh Kayla, you're always one to dampen my parade.
I also dont mention that even though this School is quite large, a mile away is a bit of an exaggeration. That's me, the downer.
"I don't know, it's just a good day." I said shrugging my shoulders.
She - being the over dramatic person she was - suddenly stopped me. She turned me to look at her and stared at me with her brown eyes. What the hell was she doing? I wanted to know so I asked her just that.
"I'm staring into your soul" She said as if it was a normal everyday thing.
Okay, cue the face palm.
"And what do you see?" I asked, prompting her to explain what she was on about now.
"Nothing." She answered and started walking again. I followed behind her a
"You know you're not very good at this."
"Don't be silly Hazel, I see nothing because your soul is black, so please tell me why you're happy, for real."
Did she just call me evil? What no! I always thought I was a Griffindor not Slytherin. My life is a lie!
"Really Kay, I'm just having a good day, what's wrong about that?" I asked.
"Nothing I guess" She said as she opened the door to the cafeteria with me. We bought our lunch and headed straight to our table, that we shared with my other cool friends.
"Hey Nate, Halle and Josh" I greeted as I took my seat across from Nate and beside Kayla.
See even though Kayla and I were practically sewn together, we still made other friends. They're just like us, low-key weirdos who aren't popular, but still know a few people.
"Hey Hazel, Hey Kay" the all greeted together, and opened up their current conversation for us to join in on.
I was actually having a good time and enjoying my lunch when someone thought that it would be nice to ruin it. And by someone I mean my ex-I don't what I was thinking- boyfriend, Ashton Hale.
