He said, "Treat others the way you want to be treated." Hoping I would heed and change my ways.
With my teeth pulled back in a feral snarl I replied, "That's why I killed them all."
"Mommy, why do people hate?"
"Because they had once loved with all they had and it never mattered."
"I was so lost," he breathed out, " But I found you." He said it like it was a miracle he still couldn't believe.
"Oh, no, no. You misunderstand me. He never broke my heart. Never shattered it. None of that. He was much too kind, compassionate, caring, gentle for such violent activities.
No, he never broke my heart, he gently laid my heart to rest on a bed of thorns."
"And that hurts more, ma chérie , that hurts more," she added bopping the nose of the giggling girl in front of her.
"Because even till the end, he cared," she sighed out looking far away at the night sky, searching for a man who would never return.
