I smile up at the blonde boy as he makes his way towards me with his notepad in hand." look at that your back." Niall, the waiter from only a few hours ago greets, I nod my head," ya I guess I am." I say "what can I get ya?" he asks, I shrug "nothing right now." I smile and he nods "alright just call me over if you want anything later." He says and I nod and then he leaves. I take out my phone to see it has died, oh great I put my face in my hands completely tired and annoyed on how this night is going. I feel a tap on my shoulder and I look up to see niall "sorry to bother you but you looked a bit troubled and I've got nothing much to do so are you okay?" he asks nervously, "im fine." I say right away, "really?" he asks and I look at him for a second "of course why wouldn't I be?" I ask, "I don't know I just get this weird vibe from you." He explains "what kind of vibe?" I question intrigued by his words, "I don't know you seem different than the rest of the people in this town." He says and I nod "well you're not too much like any of them here either." I tell him "how's that?" he asks looking into my hazel eyes generally listening to me not like a weak child but as a regular seventeen year old "well for starters that accent is basically a siren screaming not from here." I laugh and he joins "I thought I hid the Irish accent well." He jokingly says and I laugh again, "so how old are you?" he asks me "seventeen." I say and he nods "how old are you?" I ask "twenty one." He shrugs and I nod, "you look younger." I say "ya that's because im a hobbit." He says and I laugh throwing my head back "a hobbit?" I question "ya the little chubby things that live in trees, you know?" he questions and I nod "of course I know what a hobbit is." I laugh and he smiles. I look out the window to see the dark sky with just the moon lighting it up, niall notices me looking out the window too "I love the moon." I say, "Why is that?" niall asks "I don't know it's a stupid reason." I say "I want to hear it." Niall tells me "the moon can make something as scary has a dark sky look so peaceful and serene, and it makes me feel like no matter where there's darkness the moon will be there to make it a bit brighter." I say looking at him and then scoffing "it's a bit stupid, I know." I say and niall shakes his head "I don't think it's stupid at all." looking right at me. We stay like that for a bit him staring at me and me doing the same thing, he then looks down at my lips and without warning I feel both of us leaning in, my mind is clouded and I feel completely sane for once as he gets closer but then suddenly the door opens and then we both pull away "Evelyn!" a panicked voice says and automatically I know it's my mom. She spots me and her worry filled eyes soon turn to joy. "Thank god." She sighs walking towards me, "maybe we'll see each other again?" niall whispers to me before walking to the back of the store and I sigh. "I was so worried about you!" my mom says hugging me "why wouldn't you call me?" she asks "my phone died." I say standing up "I thought that man took you again. "She sighs hugging me tightly and chills run through my spine at the thought. "Why did you leave Rosaline's house?" my mom asks sternly "we got into a fight." I say standing up from my seat" I called you and texted you but you didn't answer so I walked here." I told her "Evelyn do you know what could of happened." My mom says opening the door for me, I nod "ya but-"I start "no buts, what you did was stupid! We could have lost you again." "But you didn't." I say and she frowns at me "you know what? This week your grounded, no phone when we get home." Mom says sternly as she opens the door to the car and slides in, I do the same and then say "I rather be home than anywhere else." I tell her and she shakes her head as she puts the keys in the ignition and begins to drive. The drive home is silent the only thing heard is the soft sound of music and in a matter of ten minutes we are home. I get out of the car without a word and make my way the door. My mom follows behind with the house key and as she reached me she puts her hand forward towards me "phone now." She says I roll my eyes and place it in her hand. She unlocks the door and I go straight up to my room. I sit on my bed and take out my mac. I scroll through my twitter noticing the mentions I had, most were typed in the line of why isn't @evelynn_shire at school or this whole town is ruined because of @evelynn_shire, it didn't bother me much because in all honestly I wish I could run from this small paper town, move on to something bigger. I open my bed side table and take out an anxiety pill feeling like nothing could make me feel better, I swallowed the pill dry and continued to scroll. There's a knock at my door and soon my dad enters "eve." He smiles down at me "hi." I say "how are you?" he asks sitting down on my bed "I've been better." I sigh "what's wrong?" he asks, I shrug "everything." I simply say and he nods "ya it's going to feel like that for a while but your brother is coming home tomorrow." He smiles at me and I nod "dad?" I ask and he nods "was it easier without me here?" I ask him and he looks at me for a moment his face becoming concerned "no, it was very hard without you. Your mom and I are very happy you are home." He says and I nod with a yawn "are you tired?" he asks and I nod my head and he stands up getting ready to leave "dad?" I ask, he looks at me "do you ever think about that night with the moon and stars when I was six?" I ask him and he smiles "all the time, I think about you being young all the time and how much you've grown." He says, "Were things easier when I was younger?" I ask him and he smiles "nope it's never been easier, no matter how old you were and are you always have your mother's stubbornness." He says and I laugh "I love you Evelyn." He says " I love you too." I tell him as he opens my bedroom door and closes the light. I open the bed side lamp and slowly fall asleep awaiting to fight my demons.
