It had been a few hours since Liv' s last stop. It was close to 9, and she was in desperate need of a pit stop. Seeing a gas station, she pulled in and up to a pump. She got out and went inside. She went to the bathroom, and walked to the snack aisle. She bought some snacks, a couple drinks, and a pack of gum.
She placed her items on the counter, and told the cashier she'd like $30 on pump 1.
"Sure thing." The older teen said.
"Thanks." Olivia said, turning to walk away. "Oh, hey, maybe you can help me." She said walking back up to the counter.
"I'll try, wha'd'ya need ma'am?" they boy, probably about 19 asked.
"Well, I'm looking for a town called Storybrook. I have this postcard, but no one seems to have heard of this place. Do know where it is, or if it even exists?" She asked the boy, who up until now had been calm, and nonchalant. He looked uncomfortable now.
"Yeah, I've heard of it, it's the next town up. But ma'am, I've got to tell you they're some mighty weird people."
"How so?"
"Well, they keep to themselves, no one ever comes or goes. They're pretty much self contained, like a country or something. It's very weird."
"Well thanks Brandon," she said, looking at his name tag. "You've been a big help."
"Ma'am, there's one more thing.. they don't take to well to strangers. Just be careful, I don't think they're dangerous, but you never can tell."
"Well thanks, I can handle myself though." She smiled and pulled her jacket back revealing her badge. "Is there a motel close by here, I want to get some rest tonight." She said pushing on the door.
"Yep, turn right out of here, go about two miles, turns left. And there's a Bed and Breakfast on the main strip." Brandon said.
"Thanks again!" She said walking to her car and pumping the gas. *Well at least it exists* she thought pulling out of the gas station.
