Chapter 23 : The proposal

It has been 3 years since Naia and I have been together and we are quite inseperable. The town call us many things such as when we go hunting they call us the hunting duo. Naia lures the animal and I fire an arrow and kill it, why just this morning we took down a male buck and a male moose. Also when we garden our crops come out healthier looking than the rest of the crops so they name us the garden masters.

Also all the work we did paid off really good so I was planning on building a huge house for naia and myself. Also I have a very special gift in my hands two rings one for myself and Naia who I hope accepts.

(Flashback) two years ago after my father died, my mother was about to join him. "Son take these" she hands me a small bag filled with something. "What is it?" I ask her with tears running down my face. "Open it and see" so I did that and two rings fell out. "GASP Mother are these?" "Yes son mine and your dad's wedding rings I wanted you to have them so you could fufill my last wish"? "What anything" I said while crying. "I want you to ask Naia to marry you and have a family with her". "What" I asked in shock. "Your dad and I know how much you care for her why every talk we had was you saying how great she is and how your so lucky to know her, we figured love was blooming you don't have to hide it from me." "Mother I"? "It's okay don't ask her yet spend even more time with her then ask her please son you will be so very happy with her and that's all I and your father really want". I looked at the rings and thought I really do love Naia but it seems so soon. "Okay I will ask her when I am ready". She then reaches up to touch my cheek with her hand, "I know my son and remember I will always love you and goodbye". With one last sigh she closed her eyes with a smile on her face and her arm fell back down. I cried even louder because she was gone. "MOTHER" I sobbed real loud. (Flashback ends)

I wiped my teary eyes away, after she passed we buried her under her home alongside my father so they had everything for the afterlife, but more importantly they were together again. "Okay it's time for work".  I went hunting and found Naia who just killed a rabbit. "Good kill" she turned to look at me and smiled "Thanks Jakkub I thought you would take some time off since I know your still hurting about your mother's passing". 

"Yeah I was but then I thought she wouldn't want me to suffer like that she would want me to do things that make me happy so I thought I would find my girlfriend/partner and we would hunt together". "Ha yeah and I missed my hunting pal and boyfriend" she then got up and kissed me.

Even though it only lasts for a minute I still feel like I am flying. "Hey speaking of which are 7 years when we first met so our anniversary is coming up I was thinking how about a moonlight picnic near the river?" "Yes I love the river are secret spot?" "Definitely and the date is in three days". "I have a surprise for you as well".

After telling her that I started to get nervous because I thought I was rushing things but decided now or never. At last the night has come and I was heading to our spot with the rings and I practiced a lot so I am ready. I am dressed in fancy clothes and I see she is to as she is wearing a dress that goes to her ankles. I greet her and we dig in to the food and I even made her dessert which is chocolate cake we downed that like crazy.

Finally the time has come so I pulled out a ring and when she wasn't looking I got behind her and said "Naia" she looks at me. "We have known each other for seven years and dating for three in a half years and I really enjoy being with you, heck your the only one I want to be with so I wanted to ask you(I pull out one of the rings) will you please marry me and be my wife" I showed her the ring and waited praying she would say yes. 

Naia's p.o.v. I was in shock and surprise Jakkub just asked me to marry him and my heart felt like it was on fire, I looked at the ring and realizedit was his late mother's which made me honored and I loved him so much so I answered. "YES I will marry you" I said with tears. It was like time stopped the woman I loved accepted my proposal,I smiled and she gave me her finger and I slipped the ring on and we kissed under the moonlight.

As we kissed I felt my Mother and Father's spirits cheering for us in heaven as well.
